Tap....tap tap.....tap tap tap tap tap
Ugh, what is that tapping noise?
I force my eyes open and see my brother tapping my forehead. "Bradly! What on earth are you doing?" "Dinner time." That's all he said as he ran happily out of my room. He's probably happy that he was able to wake me up instead of mom.
I crawl my way out of bed and head downstairs. Im half way down the staircase when I realize, dad is supposed to be home from his week of work! After realizing that I practically leapt down the stairs. It's going to be him. He's gonna be home! Finally! I can tell him how much I missed him and how happy I am that he's home! I stop in the doorway. No, this can't be right. There's........ There's only three of us. My heart sunk as my happiness turned into sadness. "Honey, the food is gonna get cold if you just stand around like that" said my mother. I walked to my chair, depressed. I didn't wanna meantion dad because I didn't want bradly to get upset.
I pick up my fork and stab it into my steak. "Now, chealsey, you know better than to eat before everybody comes to the table." Said my mom. "Oh! Of course!" I said. I grew the biggest smile as I set my fork down. "He's been taking a while, so why dont you go get him, bradly?" I was a little dissapointed that my mom didn't choose me to get him, but at least I'll get to see my dad! I knew he wouldn't dissapoint us! "Okay!" Said bradly as he eagerly jumped out of his chair. His little footsteps faded away. Daddy, he's actually here! Bradly came back soon after, but just him, not......daddy. "Where is he?" I said "right here" said bradly as he put a stuffed lion on a pile of books on our fourth chair. "Now that lion is here, we can start eating." Said my mom as she dug into her steak. "What!?!" I said. "What's wrong Chealsey? Lion always joins us for dinner. What's so strange?" My mother asked, questioningly. "Where is he?" I said, my voice a little high. "Honey, first of all calm down, and where is who? Lions right there!" My mom said calmly. "I dont care about stupid lion! Where's dad!" With out thinking, I took lion, and made the biggest mistake ever, I ripped him. I ripped my brothers favorite bedtime buddy, his best friend. I stared down at my hands. What did you do? You stupid idiot. How could you! "L-l-lion" my brother said as tears grew in his eyes. "Bradly, I am so sor-" I began to say when he interrupted me. "PUT LION DOWN NOW!" Bradly screamed at the top of his lungs. I wanted to hand him the plush toy, but I knew I couldnt. Instead I ran up to my room clutching the toy I knew all too well. I locked my door behind me as I pulled out my sewing kit and stuffing. I layed the lion on my bed and threaded my needle. I felt so bad for what I did, I decided to add more stuffing to the lion. I stuffed him very well, and sewed him back together. Next, I wrapped him in toilet paper and a little tape, and put him in an old carriage I had from when I was a kid. I took a deep breath and rolled the "patient" out of my room. Oh! I headed back to my room and grabbed the coziest blanket I could find. I wrapped the lion in it and gently walked down the hall to my brothers room. "Knock, knock. Buddy, are you in there?" I asked gently. "No" I heard him say, all fragile and soft. At times like this, he would be clutching lion to his little chest as I hugged him, telling him that everything will be okay. I slowly opened his door. "Go away" he said tears in his eyes. "I have some one who wants to say hi!" He looked up as I wheeled in his best buddy. "L-lion?" He asked "yeah! Isn't it great? He's all better. Hes nice and chubby because I was taking care of him, and he didn't have his dinner, so I gave him some nummy candy I had left over from my party!" His eyes lit up as he unwrapped his lion and held him in front of him. "I'm so sorry for what I did, but he's all better, and I took good care of him. I promise it will never happen again. Okay?" I said. He didn't reply. I understood. I turned to walk a way when I was greeted by little arms wrapped around my waist. "Okay" he said quietly. We love each other, no matter how many lions I rip. He loves me. And I love him.
