"Ouch!", I cried as a stinging pain came from my knee, making me cry in hurt. For eleven years old I am very clumsy. My best friend came rushing over to me, slightly tripping over a pebble as he ran, making me giggle. Once he saw my knee, his turquoise eyes washed over with concern.

"What happened C?" He asked, examining my knee sending jolts up my spine and heat rush to my cheeks, forming a slight tinge of pink.

"I tripped. Isn't it obvious?", I giggled seeing his face turn from concern to a playful frown.

" Whatever. Let's just get back home so Aunt Ann can clean your scrape." He helped me up by holding my hand, lifting me up and walking me to the back door of my house, me limping and holding on to him for dear life so I won't fall.

Once we got to the kitchen, I saw my mom and Auntie May talking. What was unusual about their conversation though was that my mother was...crying and my dad was patting her back in a comforting motion. All of a sudden, my mom saw me and Everett standing in the doorway of the kitchen, and straight away came to me, wiping her tears in the process.

"What happened hun? Are you okay?", my mother said, her face filled with worry as her light green eyes, I inherited, darkened to earthy green as she examined my knee, just the same as Everett.

"Yeah, I'm fine mom, but the real question is what's wrong with you?", I asked, my face practically morphing into a question mark.

My mom turned around looking to my dad and Auntie May, as if for approval.

"What's going on mom?", both me and Jacob asked in unison. Our voices filled with wonder, but not the good kind.

"Celeste, Everett, we have something to tell you." My mother took a breath before saying, "Lestie, Auntie May and Everett are moving to...New York." , as my mother said those words she looked like she was on the verge of tears.

I stood there, with Everett by my side, both of us, stunned. Me, trying not to believe a word of that sentence. After a few minutes I cracked. I burst into hysterics, tears streaming down my face screaming, "THAT'S NOT TRUE! YOU'RE LYING!", running up the stairs to my room, slamming my door in the process.

About a minute after I ran to my room, I heard the door open and close again. I turned from my now tear stained pillow, and to the blonde haired boy standing in my doorway. Sadness, worry, and...guilt? passed over his face at that moment.

Everett walked over to my purple and white polka-dotted bed and sat at the bottom corner of it. I sat up so he could rub my back in a comforting motion.

"Eve, did you know you where moving?", I said between sniffles and hiccups, wiping my tears away.

At the moment Everett looked as if he was debating with himself on what to say.

"Okay, Lestie. You want me to tell you the truth?", I nodded frantically, urging him to go on. "I've known for about three weeks now, and we already started packing. I didn't want to tell you because I didn't want you to be sad until the time I have to go, which is in about....2 weeks?", as he squeaked out the last part I roughly hit him with pillows, mad that he would keep this a secret from me.
