I gaze out the window as I looked up at the blue sky. I let out a satisfied sigh as I smile. I looked down at the lively courtyard. 'What a good start to my first day in Beacon.' I told myself as I walked away from the window.

I looked up at the wall clock. '8:15... classes start at 9:00. I guess I should get ready.' I told myself as I grabbed my uniform and freshened myself up for the day ahead.

. . .

'8:45...' I read as I looked up at the clock. I closed the window and head for the door. I looked back at my room and saw how plain it was.

'I should liven it just a bit after classes.' I mentally noted as I left my room and head to classes. 'First class of the day... Professor Port's Grimm Studies class...' I sighed as I continued to walk.

'I bet he's going to be storytelling more than teaching...' I muttered inwardly as I walked into the classroom. Professor Port looks up as soon as I enter the class. The class was somewhat full.

"Well! Mr. Y/N!" He exclaimed as he pats my head. I frowned as I push his hand away. He lightly chuckles. "Good morning, Professor Port." I greeted him. "A great morning to you, as well!" He exclaimed as he continued to chuckle.

I left him and sat on the first row on the left. As I took my seat, Team RWBY and Team JNPR runs into the classroom. I looked at the wall clock. '8:59...' I read as Team RWBY sat next to me. "Do you mind if we sit next to you?" Ruby sheepishly asks.

"Well... you guys are already sitting. So..." I dragged as she nodded. I looked over at the rest of Team RWBY as they were panting. I looked back at their team leader. "What took you guys so long?" I queried.

"Oh! Well... we decided to decorate our dorm! But... we lost track of time..." Ruby sheepishly smiles after. I nodded as I grasped the situation. "Monsters! Deeemons..." Professor Port started as it was time for class to start.

"Prowlers of the night! Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names, but I merely prefer to them as prey! Hu-hah! Haha!" He joked. It was quiet as Professor Port was waiting for a reaction.

"Uhh, and you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy." He saved. "Now as I was saying, Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world. Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces. And that's where we come in." He explained as he paced.

"Huntsman! Huntresses..." He clicked his tongue and winked towards Yang as I gave him a disgusted look. "Uhh, heheh..." Yang groaned uncomfortably. "Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves. From what you ask? Why... the very world!" He exclaimed as he brought his left arm up.

"Eyyy -- yeah!" One of the students exclaimed along with him. Team RWBY and I stare at the student as he sits back down. "That is what you are training to become. But first, a story. A tale of a young, handsome, man." He started as I silent groan.

"Me. When I was a boy..." He continues as I start to zone out. My ears picked up on bits of the story. "Despite smelling of cabbages, my grandfather was a wise man. Peter, he told me..." Then his voice fades again.

I heard Ruby giggling to herself as I look over at her. She noticed me as she showed me the reason why she was laughing. It was a derpy sketch of Professor Port. I let out a small smile as I shook my head. 'I can't believe her...' I inwardly told myself as she shows the sketch to her team.

"In the end, the beowolf was no match for my sheer tenacity. And I returned to my village with the beast in captivity and my head held high. Celebrated, as a hero." He finished as he bows.

"The moral of this story? A true Huntsman must be honorable. A true Huntsman must be dependable. A true Hunstman must be strategic... well-educated... and wise!" He exclaimed. "So, who among you believe themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?" Professor asked the class.

"I do sir!" Weiss exclaims as she shoots her hand into the air. "Well then, let's find out." Professor Port stated. The cage next to him started to rattle. I looked at the cage in confusion. 'A Grimm...?' I queried.

"Step forward, and face your opponent." Professor Port instructed Weiss. "Gladly." Weiss replied. "You may go ahead and change out of your uniform and grab your weapon, Ms. Schnee." Professor Port told her as she left the room.

"Y/N!" I heard someone call to me as I turn to the voice and saw Yang. "I didn't know you were short!" She exclaimed as she tried to hold in her laughter. I frowned at her comment.

"So, what? I'm just chilling and being me!" I replied. "Say, Y/N, do you have a step stool in your dorm? Do you have a ladder?" She then gasps.

"What about a booster seat?!" She cried out as she started laughing. I shook my head in disappointment. "Ruby... do something about your sister, please." I told Ruby as she saluted. "Right!" She replied as she turned to her sister.

Even though I am short for my age range... I never let that go to my head... unless someone physically implies it... then I get seriously upset. The door opens as Weiss comes back in her battle gear and wielding her rapier.

Weiss takes her position in front of the beast. The beast inside growled. "Gooo Weiss!" Yang cheered. "Fight well!" Blake added as she holds a small team RWBY flag. "Yeah! Represent teeeam RWBY!" Ruby exclaimed. Weiss brings her arm down as she glares at her.

"Ruby, I'm trying to focus." Weiss let out as Ruby became sorry. "Oh, sorry." She apologized. "Alright. Let the match," Professor Port started as he brings his ax down on the lock. "Begin!" He exclaimed as the door to the cage fall and out came a Boarbatusk.

The Grimm growls as it charges head-on towards Weiss. Weiss strikes its side as she rolls to the left. "Haha, wasn't expecting that were you?" Professor Port queried in a boisterous tone.

"Hang in there Weiss!" Ruby cheered. Weiss then charges towards the Grimm as it grabs Weiss' rapier with its tusk. "Waah!" Weiss let out surprised as she still held onto her rapier and tried to take it back.

"Bold, new approach. I like it!" Professor Port commented. "Come on Weiss, show it who's boss!" Ruby exclaimed as Weiss looked over at her. 'Oh no...' I inwardly let out as Weiss' weapon was flung across the classroom.

I teleported at the general direction of where her weapon was headed as I caught it. "Uhh!" Weiss groaned as she was pushed by the Grimm. "Weiss!" I called to her as I tossed her rapier to her.

She caught it as she lands on the other side of the Grimm. The Grimm shakes its head as it turns back towards her. "Weiss! Go for its belly! There's no armor underneath -- "

"Stop telling me what to do!" Weiss cuts Ruby off as the Boarbatusk started rolling towards Weiss. I watched as she activated one of her glyphs and stopped the Grimm. One of her glyphs appeared above her as she jumps onto it. The Grimm was now exposed and Weiss took the initiative to pierce its belly.

Weiss panted as she stood straight up. "Bravo! Braaavo!" Professor Port congratulated. "It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true huntress in training." He commented. "I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings and, stay vigilant. Class dismissed." Professor Port instructed as students walked out of the classroom.

I walked down the rows as I noticed Professor Port walking towards me. "Y/N, why did you not raise your hand?" He asked me as I looked up at him. "Can I not let others show their skills? Professor, you already know that I am capable of taking care of that Boarbatusk under half a minute." I explained to him.

"I want others to have the light, as well." I simply told him. He was left speechless as I left the classroom. Before I left the room, I noticed Ruby's sad, silver eyes.
