Just decided to write this on a whim. Tell me if its interesting, and I should continue. I'd appreciate the feed back.
Thank you.
"Please don't call on me, please don't call on me" Audrey whispered to herself as she lowered her head trying to hide behind the guy sitting in front of her.
"Audrey Lawrence, can you answer the question?" Prof. Hendrickson called. Audrey let her head fall softly onto her arms, that was just her luck the one night she didn't read the required material and he was all over her like a fly on shit. Normally he would skip over her like she didn't even exist, but today apparently he knew exactly who she was.
She raised her head and leafed thought her text book, "Uhh" she let out softly as she scanned over the text, she had no clue what she was looking for but she had to try. "Umm I'm not sure Professor" she finally said, blushing as almost every other students eyes were glued onto her.
"Hmmm" was all he said and then called an Emily Tillard who always had her hand raised as high as it could possibly be, miss smarty pants up there seemed to know everything. If you didn't know your answer she always did and when she answered it she always made it sound like it was the easiest question in the world and you were just stupid. Audrey was really starting to dislike her.
She kept her nose in her text book the rest of the class trying to catch up on the material before she was given another chapter to read tonight. Audrey had never been the best student, but that wasn't for the lack of trying. She always tried to keep updated, keep her homework done, and her chapters read. Things just didn't always fall into place perfectly in the world of Audrey.
Last night was a perfect example, her work shift had unexpectedly gone over an hour which meant she got to the gym and hour late but still had a hour of work out to do. An as she went to grab her chemistry book, she realized she had left it at home, on the coffee table, where she was studying after her class earlier that day. But at least she would have her ipod to keep her busy, psych. As she turned it one it flashed a low battery sign and then wouldn't turn back on. She was aiming ten for ten.
Finally it was 3:30pm and the professor let them go, she packed up her things and then walked out into the court yard. It was the middle of September, but it felt like it was December. Audrey went to the Art Institute in Denver Colorado, She really enjoyed the school but the winters were starting to scare her. She had moved here about six months ago and had never lived anywhere else but sunny California. She had never even seen real snow, but she got to know it up close and personal a few times already this month, if you called falling on your ass personal. The snow didn't stay snow for long, it usually turned in the a slushy slippery trap of doom, and Audrey always seemed to find it.
She walked slowly to her next class, she had a half hour till it started and not even half a campas to cross. As she walked she wrote notes in her day planner, 'READ CHAPTERS 6 & 7 OF CHEM BOOK!!' She didnt want to be called on and not know the answer, she hated that feeling of disapointment from the teacher. She opened her bag to put her planner back and dropped her keys in the prosses, she was having the best day ever today. As she bent down to pick them up someones foot collided with them first. "Hey" she said a little frustrated chashing after her keys as they went flying somewhere ahead of her. The guy who kicked them beat her to the chase, he bent down and picked up her keys out of the salted down snow on the ground.
She had planned a whole argument in her head about watching where he was going and such but when he turned around her mind went blank. He was Gorgeous, he was wearing a dark green beanie that just let little wisps of his dirty blond hair escape from underneath. He had soft brown hazel eyes, that seemed to be sparkling in the midday sun. An the slightly scruffy beard he wore did nothing but enhance his features.
When he jingled her keys in front of her face it finally knocked her out of her staring stupor, she shook her head and then mumbled "Sorry" under her breath as she grabbed her keys from him. He gave her a small crocked smile, she blushed bright red and then lowered her head and trudged off thought the salty slush on the ground. She would have usually said something, but with the embarrassment of literally being caught staring at him she didn't have the confidence to open her mouth.
Audrey was not a small girl, she never had been. She was what she liked to call curvy, she was a little heavier then most girls, but she usually didn't have a problem with her weight. She kept healthy, going to the gym twice a week to stay toned. She had confidence in herself, she knew she had a nice body, it wasn't everyone's cup of tea but she had never gone a day without a compliment. So what the hell had just happened, that guy had been extremely attractive and she had blushed and run away? That just wasn't normal, she chalked it up to being embarrassed about being caught drooling over his cuteness.
She didn't have much more time to think about it as she walked into the art department building. They were starting a new project in class today and she needed her head clear, she was still about twenty minutes early so she sat outside the door and pulled out her sketch pad as she waited. She was doodling away when she heard the building door open, she just figured it was other people for her class so she didn't bother to look up. Her eyes were focused on her sketch, but as one of her lines headed toward the top of the page so did her eyes. Without thinking about it her eyes got distracted by movement and she looked just in time to see a guy with a dark green beanie walk into the door to her next class.
Her luck was just getting better and better today. She let her head fall back and hit the wall behind her. She took a few deep breaths in, he was just a guy, no big deal she could totally handle this. She shoved her sketch pad into the bag and waited for it to get closer to class time. 3:45pm close enough, she stood up and walked to the door, she took another deep calming breath as she pulled it open.
Her professor was no where to be seen and Neither was the guy with the green beanie, she let out a breath hoping he just had the wrong class. She grabbed her things and began setting up for the class, she was actually getting excited. This was her favorite class after all, the reason she had come to this school. She took her art seriously and was glad she wasn't going to have any distractions. Wrong again.
As more people started coming into the classroom the Professor finally popped her head out from inside her office. As she walked out to welcome the class, someone else walked out with her. He looked taller when she was sitting down, and he even looked cuter if that was even possible. The slightly nervous look on his face reminded her of a lost puppy. She begged that's all he was; lost. Life would never let it be that easy though, Prof. Brooks pointed him in the direction of chairs and easels, which meant to her dismay that mister green beanie was officially a student.
Fan-fucking-tastic.
