I'm Not Like You

Ring Ring

The final bell of the day rang and Virgil went to his locker to drop off his textbooks. He felt someone come up behind him and hug him.

"Hey" Roman whispered in Virgil's ear.

"Get away from me, freak" Virgil said loudly, pushing Roman away. Roman looked at Virgil with pain in his eyes. Virgil pulled out his phone.

"I'm so sorry, I'll explain later" he texted Roman. Virgil closed his locker and walked away. Virgil walked out of the school and to the apple tree behind it.

"Meet me by the apple tree" Virgil texted his boyfriend. A few minutes later, Roman was standing next to Virgil near the tree.

"Why were you acting like that earlier?" Roman asked quietly

"I'm not like you" Virgil responded

"What does that have to do with it?" Roman asked, being careful not to use a harsh tone

"You're popular. Everyone will like you no matter what. I'm not like that. If the other people at school find out I'm gay, I'm gonna get beat up" Virgil replied quietly. Tears started falling down his face. Roman pulled Virgil into a hug.

"It's okay. It's okay. I love you" Roman whispered in his boyfriend's ear, hugging him tightly. Virgil hugged back. They hugged for a few minutes. Virgil pulled away.

"We should head to the ice cream place now" Virgil suggested. Roman nodded and they walked a few blocks down the road to the ice cream shop.

Everyone ordered the ice cream and the six boys had an overall good time, complete with Remus and Janus feeding each other ice cream wedding-cake style.
