CHAPTER SIX FIRST GAME
marley griffin.
cait drove me to the game, and since she's a cheerleader we got there early. i walked over to the stands and greeted some people.
i leaned over the railing above where madison was sitting. "hiiii."
she climbed up over the railing and stood by me. "cute outfit!" madi inspected it closely. "oh, and cute jersey."
i was wearing ethan's jersey with some leggings and white converse. cait painted "#49" on my right cheek and i did half up - half down pigtails with white and blue ribbons. you could tell cait dressed me.
the football players were warming up on the field and when ethan saw us he came over.
"you came." he grinned. ethan took the helmet off his head and put it on mine.
"don't mess up her hair!" cait called out.
i smiled. "mhm, i did come."
madison climbed back over and started practicing. ethan climbed up and held onto the railing right in front of me. "i heard you're gonna cheer again."
"yes, i'm considering cheering again." i took the helmet off my head and held it in my arms. "who told you?"
ethan pointed to cait and i nodded my head. "i like your face paint, you look really pretty marley."
my cheeks turned pink. "thank you, e."
"hurry up dolan!" my brother called from the field. "ten minutes until the game starts!" brady's eyes stayed on mine and i glared at him.
it wasn't hard to tell he only did that because he knows it would piss me off.
i felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see my dad and another woman who looked in her thirties. "hey griff!"
i wrapped my arms around him despite his use of my middle name. "i felt like i haven't see you in a while but we live in the same house."
"yeah, um, i've been hanging out with my friends lately." i nervously giggled.
the woman next to him just looked around and observed the area. i put my hand out in front of her. "hi, i'm mar-marley."
she shook my hand and smiled. "hello! i'm rachel." rachel whispered to my dad and left.
i rose my eyebrows. "she's going to find us a spot to sit." dad said.
"why is this the first time i'm meeting this woman?" i asked him. "and why here? and who is she?"
my dad shushed me. "the game's starting!"
i was beginning to get really frustrated. dad started, "we'll talk when we get home." he pulled at the bottom of my jersey. "who's jersey?"
