Scenario #7

When you eat lunch together

I sighed for what felt like the tenth time today. At this point in my life, I was starting to think that my life would end with me in math class trying to understand and comprehend the concepts that Ectoplasm was trying to nail into my brain. I’m pretty sure most of the class seemed to understand every single word that came out of his mouth.

While I, on the other hand, sat here completely lost the whole entire time. At some point during class, I was about to take two pencils and stab them into my eardrums just so I didn’t have to hear another mathematical term, but the lunch bell ended up ringing. ‘Ahh, my saving grace…’ I thought to myself as I happily gathered up my school supplies and packed them away into my backpack. 

With a small sigh, I made my way out of the classroom and put one foot in front of the other until I was finally in the cafeteria. Once I had finally arrived, I made my way to the lunch line that had begun to grow. I had to wait for a bit to get my food, but in all honesty, waiting in a line full of people with food as the ending goal was way better than being in math class. Luckily it didn’t take that long to get my food either, which I was happy about. 

‘Now, to find somewhere to sit…’ I thought to myself as I looked around to see if there were any empty places in the cafeteria that I could sit. The cafeteria itself was pretty spacious, so I didn’t think it would be too hard to find somewhere to sit. But, as I looked around, I saw that most of the people who were seated looked like they were already friends.

Me, on the other hand, I barely knew anyone. ‘Maybe I should head to the library…’ my thoughts suggested as I looked around a bit more. Eventually, after a bit of a debate in my head, I decided it would be best to eat in the library. Well, that was until someone suddenly cleared their throat behind me. I quickly looked over my shoulder to see Shinsou staring at me with a very amused expression on his face.

“You look like a deer caught in headlights.” I stuck my bottom lip out at him and pouted, which made him even more amused than before. Hitoshi shook his head and walked around me, looking back at me when he was a few steps away. “Are you just going to stand there?” I narrowed my eyes at him playfully, but hurriedly moved my feet and followed him. 

We walked and looked around for a bit until we finally made it to a table, and were both seated next to students from class 1-B. "So, did anyone understand what Ectoplasm was talking about during class?" Tetsutetsu asked as a bead of sweat fell from his temple. "I mean, everything was fine until he had gotten more in depth in his explanation." Itsuka stated, scratching the back of her neck. 

"I have to agree, I was confused throughout the second half of class" Pony said with a small smile on her face. In all honesty, I couldn't help but eat and listen as each student at the table described their confusion on the subject of math. 'Man, I'm happy I'm not the only one confused…' I thought to myself. "Someone looks conflicted" Shinsou stated as he looked at me from the corner of his eyes. 

I averted my eyes away from him and laughed sheepishly. "Yeah well, I thought I was the only one confused during Ectoplasm's lesson…" I trailed off, looking down at my food. "Hey now! We might not be in the same class, but we can still help each other out!!!" Yosetsu and Tetsutetsu stated. I looked up at the both of them to see that they both were smiling at me. 

"Tetsutetsu and Yosetsu are both correct (M/N), we may only know each other's names since we haven't spoken since the entrance exam. But if we all work together, we'll all be able to pass." Ibara said, also giving me a smile. "And besides, I took some pretty extensive notes. So we'll just look over them when the time comes." Hitoshi stated, smirking at me. 

Everyone at the table thanked Hitoshi for being a saint and went back to eating. "Thanks you guys!" I said, feeling a bit better than before. "No need to thank us (M/N)! That's what future friends are for." Itsuka said, gaining a nod from everyone else at the table before carrying on with her food. "Besides, I'd be happy to tutor you (M/N)." Hitoshi whispered, which made me frown. But I quickly shoved my lunch into my mouth to try and hide my disappointment. 

'Studying isn't the only thing I'd like you to tutor me in…' I thought, seriously debating on castrating myself at this point. 'I need to calm down...' Shinsou chuckled at my reaction and leaned into me to whisper in my ear. "You suck at hiding your disappointment." My head whipped to the side as I looked at him, my cheeks heating up as a very possessive expression formed on his face. 

'I swear this man is going to be the death of me…'
