When you celebrate his birthday together

"Is there anything you want for your birthday?" I asked for what felt like the millionth time. I knew exactly what Hitoshi was going to say, but the least I could do was ask and see if I'd get a different answer this time. "(M/N), I've told you over and over again that I don't want you to get me anything for my birthday."

"But Hitoshi! It's your birthday! I need to get you something!" I exclaimed, which made Shinsou sigh and shake his head. "You know that I don't really celebrate the day as it is, so I don't understand why you insist on getting me something." "Hitoshi, it's the day you were born. The least I can do is express how happy I am about that."

Shinsou rolled his eyes at me and sighed again, pulling me closer into his side. We were currently in his room cuddling away since we had finished up classes and homework for the day. "It's not that big of a deal-" "Not that big of a deal! Excuse me!!" I stated, sitting up and staring at my boyfriend in shock.

But Shinsou just pulled me back down and kissed my forehead. "I don't want anything for my birthday." "But Hitoshi-" "I don't want anything for my birthday (M/N)." I sat up again and pouted at my Shinsou, who was currently raising an eyebrow at me. "Why can't you just think of something?!" "Because I don't want anything!!"

I sighed and crossed my arms, narrowing my eyes at the purple-haired male laying down in front of me. "Okay, Hitoshi," I stated, which made Shinsou sigh once again. "(M/N)-" "If you won't think of anything that you want, or tell me what you want, then I'll just have to surprise you!"

"So he said he didn't want anything? Absolutely nothing at all?" Itsuka asked, which made me sigh as I nodded my head. "I've asked him multiple times, and each time he gave me the same answer. Which doesn't help me out one bit." I said as a frown made its way on to my face.

"Well, I could try and suggest a few things but I'm not sure Hitoshi would like them," Tetsutetsu said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Hmm, so you want to celebrate his birthday, but he doesn't want you to get him anything?" Itsuka asked in thought, which made me nod my head again.

"Yeah, he said he didn't want me to..." my words trailed off as I thought about Shinsou's words a little deeper. He wasn't a materialistic person. I knew that he'd accept anything that I would buy him, but I also knew that Hitoshi hated it when I'd buy him anything. No matter how cheap it was.

And the more I thought about it, the more that I started to understand what I wanted to do for Shinsou's birthday. "Guys! I know what I need to do!" I exclaimed in excitement, which made both Tetsutetsu and Itsuka look at me. "Well, don't leave us hanging. What do you want to get him?" Itsuka asked curiously.

"It's not what I want to get him. It's what I want to do for him. I have a plan that I know will be perfect for him, but I'm going to need some help with a few things." Itsuka and Tetsutetsu both smiled at me. "We'd be happy to help you (M/N)!" "Yeah! Just tell us what to do and we'll be happy to help you!"

"Is there a reason you need to cover my eyes?" Hitoshi asked as I guided him towards the little set up I had made two hours ago. He had almost caught me twice while trying to transport stuff, but luckily, Tetsutetsu and Itsuka were both able to gain his attention and distract him while I transported stuff and finished up what I was doing.

"If I answered that question, then there'd be no point to my actions." I chuckled teasingly, which made Shinsou chuckle as well. "Yeah, yeah, yeah," Hitoshi mumbled just as we made it to our destination. "Okay, I'm going to uncover your eyes now, so be prepared for greatness!" I stated.

"Yes sir!" Hitoshi stated in fake salute as he rolled his eyes under my fingers. I rolled my eyes as well and pulled my hands away from his face to wrap my arms around his waist. "Go on and open your eyes," I whispered, trying not to express too much excitement.

Shinsou chuckled and opened his eyes, only for them to widen in shock at the scenery in front of him. I had decided to set up a beach date. I laid out a fuzzy blanket with rose petals in the shape of a heart, and a few drinks and food in a cooler beside the blanket.

The weather itself had been really hot lately as well, so I decided it was the perfect opportunity to take advantage of that. So I packed up our swimsuits and everything else we would need for the day inside of the duffle bag that was currently on the other side of the blanket.

"Happy Birthday my love" I whispered against his ear, which made his body stiffen a bit. "(M/N)-" "I know you said you didn't want anything. So I decided that you'd appreciate memories instead of a materialistic gift." Hitoshi turned around and cupped my cheeks in his hands, a small smile adorning his face.

"I don't know what to say," Hitoshi whispered with tears in his eyes. "You don't have to say anything, just enjoy this intimacy with me." Shinsou smiled at my words and leaned into peck my lips. "I love it," Hitoshi stated quietly with a look of love and adoration in his eyes. "I'm glad."

Hitoshi continued to stare into my eyes for a bit before leaning into me again and kissing me passionately, and I didn't hesitate to kiss him back with just as much passion. "I love you (M/N)..." Shinsou said breathlessly as he pulled his lips away from mine. "I love you too Hitoshi."
