'bring bring'
I awoke to the sound of my phone ringing.
'bring bring'
Hopping hastily out of bed, I made my way to my dresser where the landline sat.
'bring-'
"Hello?" I answered groggily, rubbing the sleep from my eyes."
"l/n, bad news our client wants your designs finished by the end of the week." It was my boss, he sounded frantic and I could hear the shuffling of papers on his desk.
"Okay, sir, not a problem." It was best not to argue with him, I probably wouldn't win and if the deadlines been pushed forward he would be stressed and probably wouldn't hesitate to cut my wage. But this was definitely a problem
"Good, now make sure they're done. We'll have a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the details." He hung up.
I looked around my room, my German Shephard, Alpha, was stretched out along the end of my mattress, looking at me as if to say, 'I will kill you if you make me move why the hell are we awake so early'. I chuckled at the thought and made my way through to the kitchen.

After working most of the day on my designs, having calls with my coworkers, and being stressed out of mY MIND. I decided I should probably take Alpha on her walk. It was late, 8 pm and the sun had already begun to set.
As I walked slowly down the streets of the now almost empty market, I noticed Alpha had stopped a ways behind to sniff underneath someone's bins. I walked towards her, at first I wasn't worried but I noticed her fur begin to stand on end and her nose point down the street... 'Oh no she's caught the scent of something'. I rushed towards her trying to grab her collar but she began dashing in the opposite direction.
"Damn I should start keeping her on her leash," I mumbled.
As I began to chase her I felt a hand grasp my wrist. "Ah-." My scream was cut short as a large hand covered my mouth and I was swung around and slammed into the brick wall. I heard a cocking sound as the elbow jabbing into my spine was released. I turned around, hands half up as to not provoke my attacker.
I felt my heart drop as my eyes focused on the muzzle of a pistol.
We were in a dark alley, a dead-end one way, and large bins the other, I wouldn't be able to run away without getting closer to him. I looked up. There were washing lines and clothes hanging from the windows above but nothing I could reach.
"Alright little lady," the guy snickered exposing a row of yellow teeth, dotted with black and red "Show me some green, and I might just decide to leave you in one piece."
I gagged feeling fear and... Maybe vomit rising into my throat. I had practiced self-defense in theory, read books about staying calm in the event of a robbery or mugging, hell I had even been scared into buying a money clip at 8 years old because of a school assembly. But actually experiencing it...
"Anytime this week doll I got places I need to be!" The thug smashed the grip of the gun into my nose knocking my head back onto the bricks and cutting my lip. I could taste nickel in my throat as my bag was snatched from my hand. The last thing I heard before my vision went dark was:
"HEY WHAT DO YOU THINK Y-"
