Fear.
An element all humans felt, a sensation of which the high was sought out by some.
Russia was familiar with fear. It constantly would knock on the windows of his childhood, twisting it and leaving it dark and cold. Yet now, it accompanied him like an old friend, aiding him. Funny how the tables turn, isn't it?
The rules in his nation were simple. The one who knew fear and could manipulate it over others to their own will ruled, and no one could know this better than the personification of Russia himself. In only a few days, the shadow of fear loomed over every household; Warning, taunting.
Russia didn't particularly like doing this to his citizens, but it seemed to be the best option, and he learned early on in his broken life that sometimes, the best option meant executing actions you didn't like.
Yet...
Images, images that brought him pain and doubt, haunted him.
"Ivan, what are you doing?! Ivan!"
"Get out you freak!""Monster!"
"Don't hurt them!"
"You psychopath!"
"Stay away!"
"How could you do such a thing?!"
"Heartless maniac!"
"Vanya, please... This... This isn't right."
"Mama? I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
No. He couldn't think like this. Too far. He wasn't supposed to succumb to this emotion. He couldn't. Not again. He was Ivan Braginsky, the personification of the Russian Federation. He was strong. He was not weak.
The weak never survived.
He knew that well.
He was weak once.

Now, this one I like more, definitely. There's going to be two more chapters like this of similar lengths, and then we go back to normal chapters. I'm starting to get into a more angsty place with this story, as you can see.
I don't think there's much else to be said, except I will be in your Wattpad debt if you read, comment and vote, so...
Ciao till the day after tomorrow~!
