Man cannot discover new oceans. unless he has the courage to lose sight. of the shore.Beauty within
District four. The most beautiful district out there,at least in Finnick's opinion. Don't let the ugly industrialized shores fool you, there's more to it then it seems.
It's been years and countless trips to the Capitol but Finnick is finally spending some quality time in his real home. Besides taking care of Mags, dealing with Annie's breakdowns and pleasing his clients,Finnick spends his time at the open sea. He finds comfort in it,specifically because although he is unaware of it,he's more similar to the sea than he thinks. Beautiful but deadly, captivating on the outside but dangerous on the inside, wild and calm at the same time. The smell of fresh water and the direct sunlight is hard to resist, but he embraces his love, speaks to the sun,and gently caresses the waves. If the greek Gods Apollo (The sun God) and Poseidon (The sea God) had a son Finnick would be him.At this very moment all his troubles seem small compared to the large amount of water that's in front of him, there's a small private beach reserved for the Victor's near their village. Annie can't bring herself to swim and Mags, let's just say she goes eventually, just like Finnick she's a very skilled swimmer. He is only truly happy when he's alone at the beach. His mother, bless her heart took him when he was a child all the time. When things were simpler, when he wasn't cursed with the life of a Victor, sometimes he wishes he'd died in that arena,he was broken beyond repair having to live a life like this, but at this moment all of that kind of disappeared. A few months ago he has heard Mags use the term "thalassophile" to describe him, which he later found out it means "lover of the sea",that's the most beautiful word he ever heard. It's funny how Capitol is the richest and the most beautiful part of Panem, yet most of its citizens won't experience his lovely home that's far out of Capitol's league. He pitied them, each and every single one of them, they don't know what they're doing to the districts and he as much as he hated that couldn't change a thing. Loving someone is a losing game,he thought. For his family and all his loved ones,he needed to be a part of their little games, but it was worth it if he kept his loved ones happy, besides he learned to negotiate with secrets from clients which proved to be useful. Lost in his thoughts,he hasn't realised the sun will be down soon therefore he should be leaving the beach. With the happy thought of going to the Capitol tomorrow,he left the beach knowing he won't see it anytime soon. He sighed and went home.
