Brynley walked out of the dressing room in a dress shop in a long purple dress, Caroline and Bonnie walked out with her, Caroline in a pink dress. She had already figured out and done the spell that got rid of Elijah's markings.

"What kind of dreams?" Caroline asked Bonnie.

"Usually I'm at his grave and all of a sudden, he appears to me." Bonnie answered.

"Creepy." Brynley twirled around in the gown in front of a mirror.

"Well, you never got to say goodbye, Bon. You're grieving, that's normal." Caroline shrugged.

"When I woke up, the couch was on fire." Bonnie said. "I don't know if it's because I was emotional in my dream, or if Shane was right. Without his help, I'll lose control of my magic."

"No, you don't need Shane." Brynley spoke up.

"It's because you need a night off from mourning. And I'm gonna make sure that you have it." Caroline agreed with Brynley and the three friends smiled at each other.

"Um, you two look super hot, by the way." Bonnie complimented.

"You think?" Caroline questioned. "You need to get that dress, Bryn."

Brynley smiled at the blonde as she continued to stare at herself in the mirror.

"Matt and I are gonna have the sexiest date there." Bonnie smirked and Brynley giggled. "No offense B, Elijah is incredibly lucky as well."

"Thanks Bon." Brynley said.

"You're going to with your literal soulmate!" Caroline reminded. "Elijah's like, the ultimate prom date!"

"I know, I just can't believe he agreed to it." Brynley laughed.

"Of course he did, that guy would do anything for you." Bonnie said.

"You know what, I love friend-prom. And it's exactly what prom should be-- friends and memories." Caroline declared. "Yes, it sucks that my boyfriend can't be here, but the four of us are gonna have the night of our lives."

Caroline's smile dropped as Elena and Rebekah entered the store. Brynley gave Rebekah a smile.

"Hey, Brynley, Bonnie. Heard you got your mind wiped-- that sucks." Elena greeted the three girls. "Pretty dress, Caroline."

"I know. You helped me pick it out months ago when we were friends-- before you tried to kill me." Caroline crossed her arms

"I thought it looked familiar." Elena sighed.

"Bryn, you look beautiful." Rebekah complimented.

"Thank you." Brynley smiled.

"Can you press this for me? I'll pick it up later." Caroline looked at the store clerk. "Bonnie?"

"I'm gonna pay for this now and take it." Brynley told the store clerk and she nodded.

Brynley and Evan Fletcher stood in the living room, Evan taking photos of Brynley in her prom dress with her hair and makeup done.

"You know, I always thought you would end up going to prom with Matt or Tyler," Evan joked and Brynley laughed. "Definitely not an original vampire."

"To be honest, me neither." Brynley agreed and Evan put his phone down.

"Alright, I think we got enough pictures." Evan said and walked over to Brynley, giving her a hug. "You look beautiful."

"Thanks Dad." Brynley whispered.

"Oh, and if you and Elijah are going to do the devil's tango again tonight, do it at the Mikaelson mansion!" Evan crossed his arms and Brynley's eyes widened, blush rushing to her face.

"H-How do you know?" Brynley studdered.

"When I went to drop off your laundry in your room, the journal on your desk was open to a bruise/burnt removing spell," Evan answered. "And you were extra smiley today and you have a look on your face that I've never seen on you before."

"I'm sorry," Brynley apologized and Evan laughed slightly. "Yeah, we'll stick to the Mikaelson mansion."

"I have to head to the Grill, call me if you need anything. Have fun, make memories, don't drink." Evan said and walked out of the house. Brynley stood in front of the mirror in the living room, fixing her hair while she waited for Elijah. She heard a knock on the door and walked over. Brynley opened it to see Elijah standing there in a tuxedo holding a corsage in a box.

"Hi." Brynley smiled and Elijah smiled back at her, his heart practically stopping when he looked at her.

"You look incredible." Elijah whispered and Brynley smiled even more. Elijah took the corsage out of the box and slipped it onto Brynley's wrist.

"Thank you." Brynley said.

"Oh, your neck's clear." Elijah smirked.

"Yeah, guess I'm not that much of an amateur fairy anymore." Brynley shrugged with a smile.

"Shall we?" Elijah offered his hand and Brynley linked arms with him.

The soulmates walked down the red carpet the school had set up. The path led to the room the prom was being held in. Along the path were multiple screens showing pictures of the past four years. Brynley stopped at a screen that showed a picture of her, Tyler, and Matt on the first day of school, freshman year.

"Wow." Matt gasped as he looked at the picture, him and Bonnie walking up to Bryn and Elijah.

"We were so tiny." Brynley laughed, looking at Matt. Both of them felt a small amount of sadness rise up in them at the fact that Tyler wasn't here with them, he was currently on the run from Klaus. The picture left the screen, being replaced by another of Bryn, Matt, and Tyler. The three of them smiling at the Masquerade Ball, just a couple months ago.

"Why does it all feel like so long ago?" Matt asked Bryn and she shrugged.

"Have you heard from him?" Brynley wondered and Matt shook his head.

Brynley and Elijah stood on the dance floor of the prom. His hands were on her waist and hers were in his shoulders.

"You know the picture Matt and I were looking at earlier?" Brynley spoke up and Elijah looked at her. "The one where I was wearing the blue dress? That was the night Rose and Trevor kidnapped me, the day before I met you."

"You were terrified of me." Elijah smirked.

"No," Brynley lied and Elijah gave her a look. "Fine, only for like two minutes, and then the soulmate bond kicked in, I felt like I could trust you with anything and I didn't even know your last name."

"The first thing I noticed about you was your eyes," Elijah admitted and Brynley smiled. "I just couldn't stop thinking, 'They're so blue,' I was intrigued by you immediately."

"You cut Trevor's head right off and everything inside me still said to trust you." Brynley said and Elijah smiled.

"I could tell just by looking into your eyes how innocent you were, how good." Elijah sighed. "I felt this need to protect that innocence, to protect you."

"Is that why you asked me to close my eyes that night you killed the werewolves?" Brynley asked and Elijah nodded. "You can't protect me forever."

"I can try." Elijah shrugged.
