s4e23: graduation

Another month passed and it was now the day of graduation.

"Dad, I need more boxes!" Brynley yelled from her upstairs bedroom. She was packing her clothes and her other things to take to New Orleans. She had three different sections of boxes: Take to NO, Throw away, or Give away.

"Alright, I'm heading to store now!" Evan yelled back and Brynley could hear her dad leaving the house and her phone rang.

"Hey Elle." Brynley answered her phone.

"Hey, my dad just told me to update you that the spell you cast is holding up great," Elle informed. "And everyone here is practically screaming with joy, cheering about how we are going to have a Monarch again."

"Yeah, I still have to figure all that out." Brynley sighed. "Everyone says I can do it, but it's ruling a society. I can't exactly wing it."

"True, okay, I've gotta go. You'll be here soon right?" Elle questioned.

"By tomorrow. Bye Elle." Brynley hung up and dropped her phone on the bed. She grabbed the next two dresses in the pile of clothes she had to sort. The dresses she held in her hand were the two she wore to the Masquerade Ball and the Founders Party. "Why do I have so many clothes?"

"You have unlimited closet space in New Orleans, so I wouldn't worry about it." Brynley heard another voice and turned around to see Amelia Hollis.

"What the hell? Did I really get that little sleep?" Brynley said and rubbed her eyes, but Amelia still stood there. Brynley pinched her arm, and rubbed her eyes some more. "Come on, Bryn-B, wake up!"

"Brynley, I'm here, for real," Amelia walked over to her daughter. "I believe your friend, Bonnie, dropped the veil to the Other Side temporarily, so we don't have a lot of time."

Brynley ran over and pulled her mother into a tight hug. "I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry."

"It's not your fault, you have nothing to apologize for," Amelia shook her head. "I do, and I always will."

"Mom, I went to New Orleans, I found out about Audubon, and the Council," Brynley rambled. "I can't be Monarch, I've never even been president of a school club! How am I suppose to rule a whole fricking society of fairies?"

"Listen to others' opinions, but listen to yourself as well. Follow your gut when you know something is right," Amelia smiled. "That's the first thing I learned as Monarch. So, now you get to go into the Monarch position knowing that."

"I can't do it." Brynley whispered.

"Oh blossom, yes you can," Amelia nodded. "You're exactly what Audubon needs to change things around there. You just have to believe that you can do it. It's not gonna be easy Brynley-B, but nothing worth it ever is."

"A member of the Council, Taelyn, she says you sent her here every once in a while to check up on me." Brynley mumbled.

"I did. That's how I know you're perfect for this." Amelia confirmed. "You're kind, but when you see something is wrong, you speak or do something about it. There's a lot of things wrong with how New Orleans is being run right now, and you'll see that, so do something about it."

"I love you, Mom." Brynley whispered.

"I love you too, Brynley-B." Amelia smiled and the mother and daughter hugged once more.

Brynley and Amelia walked to downstairs of the Fletcher house just as Evan walked in.

"Amelia." Evan's eyes widened. "How are you here? How are you alive?"
