Vernon's POV
06:27 pm
Dad's leaving for the Philippines tonight. He said there's some kind of business issues going on there with his company. He said he's going to be back in two weeks. Meanwhile, I have to be in charge of the entire house by myself. Just the housekeeper will be guarding the house overnight.
"Son, can you check the flight timing?" Dad asked me to read out the departure time to him while he cuffed the wrists buttons of his shirt in front of the mirror.
"It says 21:10 sharp," I informed.
"Flight 858, Seat 2A Business Class," I read in my mind, glancing at the ticket. He got the air ticket for himself in advance so that he doesn't have to wait too long before the immigration.
Within the next few minutes, dad was done dressing himself up for the leave. He dragged his luggage and laptop bag to the main door. He stopped.
"Take care of the house, son. I'll be back after 2 weeks hopefully, okay?" Dad patted my shoulder.
I nodded and smiled.
"Take care of yourself too. Call me when you reach there," I said.
"I will," Dad said and began to walk out, when he paused.
"Oh by the way! I totally forgot!" Dad raised his fingers at the recall.
"What is it?"
Dad let go of his luggage and walked closer to me.
"Vernon, there is a marriage proposal for you," Dad informed as he held my arms tight.
"What?" I reacted with a frown of annoyance. Marriage again.
"Look, I have already promised him and his daughter of the marriage after I come back to the United States. We're going to confirm the dates for the wedding and related events. They might call you during at times to make sure you're doing fine. Please be respectful to them. I know you're mad at me because I didn't tell you about this sooner, but this is for your betterment. I hope you understand," Dad explained.
"Dad I don't want to get married, please try to und--"
"Get over her already," Dad cut me off, raising his voice.
Get over her?
Oh. Her...
I didn't speak.
"I'll take my leave," Dad said as he started to walk out.
I stood there, still, with a blank expression.
As soon as I realized that dad already left, I immediately closed the main door and headed upstairs to my room.

Incoming call...
Dad
I received the call right away.
"Hey son! I just got on the plane. You good?"
"Yes dad. I am," I said, smiling at the fact that he already misses me, not even leaving yet.
"I miss my son already, haha. Love you," Dad laughed.
"Hehe I know you do. Love you too," I said.
"Bye then," Dad ended the call.
Sigh.
I feel so stuffy inside. I should sleep.

Abella's POV
Mom and I moved to the town for 2 years since we handed over our plot to the developers to rebuild our house. It was built 3 generations back and it was in a horrible condition, so we had no other choice. We moved in today. It was a rented house. Not too big, but enough for our living. It was pretty close to the Davis' mansion, just 2 roads away. I already started to get over the incident and start over again.
I organized my belongings for the night and prepared myself for a long, good sleep after this tiresome day. I laid down on the bed, with my both my hands on my abdomen. I closed my eyes to slowly grow unconscious as I drifted into a deep sleep.

12:15 am
I was disturbed by the horns of multiple vehicles outside, with sirens of police and media cars. I got up from bed to see what was wrong. Right when I was about to walk to the balcony, I found mom sitting in shock, staring the television turned on. I quickly ran to her.
"Mom what's wrong?" I asked with great concern. She didn't speak but stared the TV. I shifted my gaze to the TV as well to get myself struck by a bolt afterwards.
