Feels Like New

Brand New Mom

Lauren is sleeping while everybody waits for at least one of the girls to wake up. Lauren feels Camila moving her arm and she sits upright as the brunette opens her eyes.

"Morning," Lauren whispers.

"Morning baby," Camila whispers back.

"Are you hungry?" Lauren asks. Camila nods and the green-eyed girl pressed the nurse button. The nurse comes in and Lauren asks her for some breakfast. She nods and leaves the room to get Camila's breakfast.

"Where's the baby?" Camila asks her girlfriend.

"In the nursery, she's a pre-born so she has to stay here for three months," Lauren explains.

Camila nods and sits up when the nurse comes back in with her breakfast

3 months later...

Lauren and Camila enter the hospital together as the doctor leads them down to the nursery. Today is when their baby is going home with them but of course not in perfect condition. The baby is coming back home with an air tank for her asthma and a feeding tube installed in. Once they get down to the nursery a nurse takes the baby girl out and smiles at the two parents.

The nurse hands her over to Camila and Lauren strokes the baby girl's cheek. "What do you want to name her?" The green-eyed girl asks her girlfriend.

"Autumn," Camila looks up at Lauren.

"That's perfect," Lauren smiles.

An hour or two later of just getting all of Autumn's necessary things to take home for her health Lauren and Camila finally arrive home. The dogs run to the front door upon hearing it open and they examine the small body in Camila's arms.

Lauren looks at Camila and kneels down to the big dog's height. "That's your sister Thunder," Lauren tells the big dog.

Thunder walks over to Camila and gently jumps on her. He nudges Autumn's small torso lightly and pants happily. He stands back on all four of his legs and runs upstairs. Lauren looks at Camila confusingly and she shrugs.

The big dog runs back downstairs with a small blanket in his mouth this time. He nudged Lauren's leg and the green-eyed girl takes the blanket. Thunder howls towards Camila and Lauren took Autumn in her arms along with her small air tank. She checks her diaper to see if she made a mess but it's clean.

"I guess she's just cold then," Lauren says towards Camila. Lauren wraps Autumn with the blanket and carries her up to her baby room. Lauren lays Autumn down in her crib and turns to Camila. "Should we put her to sleep?"

"Nah just leave her here with Thunder he'll come to get us if something is wrong," Camila smiles, "Come on let's go make dinner.

Lauren nods, wraps an arm around Camila's waist, kissing her forehead. "Come on baby," Lauren smiles. "Thunder?"

The dog perks his ears up looking at his 'father'. Lauren motions two fingers to her eyes and towards the baby. Thunder howls as in agreement and lays down next to the crib. Lauren and Camila go downstairs with Cleo right on their heels.

They made dinner and luckily everything went smoothly that night so the two girls were able to get some sleep that night.
