Terry’s POV
I didn't have any dreams that night, its not like I have them anyways, its pretty rare for me to have a dream. I woke up it was cloudy out, and Aaliyah was still lying on my shoulder, it warmed my heart to see she was still here along side me. I took my hoodie off and gently placed her along side the wall, my hoodie acting like a pillow for her.
The air was cool but I could take it I looked around to check if the streets were cleared only five zombies were outside and they away from us. I checked the counters seeing if there was anything of use while singing the Demo version of Lose Yourself by Eminem softly to myself. I found nothing everything was dead silent.
Then two fingers tap my sides followed by a "Boo" I jumped a bit but when I turned back it was only Aaliyah "Jesus don't scare me like that," I laugh softly, she laughs also.
"I got you didn't I?" She says to me
I respond, "Yeah you did." She then hugs me and I hug back then she passes me my hoodie, I put it on and flip up the hood to half of my head so that my side parted hair still shows.
"Are we gonna go?" She asks nervously
"We can stay here for a bit more longer if you want" I suggest. While I'm there I remember that guy that jumped us and how I pushed him into some zombies, he had to have been on Ecstasy or something because he just attacked us out of no where. I kind of felt bad for killing him but I had to it was either him or Aaliyah, and I wasn't about to lose her.
After about a couple minutes of talking we decide that its time to go so for the past fifteen minutes we walk cautiously and swiftfully to my house, not alerting any walkers.
Thats when it hit me, my keys were back in my bookbag which is in my locker back at school. "Shit" I say under my breath, "Wait here" I instruct to Aaliyah. I stare at my door before walking up to one of the windows and I hit it once with my elbow, it caused cracks the next time it completely shatters.
I turn to Aaliyah and motion with my arms for her to follow me, and I scout the area to see if I alerted any unwanted zombies. When we went inside my house through the window the place was a wreck. The TV was broken on the floor of my living room and furniture was flipped and so were shelves, I went into my room and Aaliyah followed me. My room was the same as how I left it perfectly intact. I inspected my room and looked for stuff we could use meanwhile Aaliyah lied down on my bed to rest her feet.
Then I realized that I still had my old baseball bats in my closet, I opened the door that led to my closet inside was a rack of clothes that I wear and under it were my baseball bats, I pick them all up and examined it. I had one wooden bat and two metal bats. I layed them on the floor and dug deeper in my closet to find two old bookbags that I never used, one for me, one for Aaliyah. I went into my kitchen and grabbed 3 kitchen knives and put one in my bookbag and threw the others into Aaliyahs bag.
We also packed some canned food that wouldn’t go bad right away, water bottles, and a couple powerades. I searched through the cabinet in our bathroom and found a pack of bandages, and some aspirin. I gave both to Aaliyah in hopes that she can fix up her wound a bit more. The bags were not that full, but it was enough to last us a while. I turn to Aaliyah as she sits up, she looked worried.
