PAUL'S P.O.V.

I woke up before everyone else this evening. That shit absolutely never happens. It's probably because I can't stop thinking about how much our lives are going to change after we kill Max. Just that alone would change life as we know it. But we're also time traveling 33 years into the future. I wonder what it's like in 2020. I hope funnel cakes are still a thing! And I also hope we don't have too hard of a time adjusting to how different things will be. At least we'll have the girls to guide us through stuff. Maybe they can set Dwayne and Marko up with a couple of their friends. I'll have to mention that to them later.

I don't remember how I got there, but I found myself in the doorway of Sam and Courtney's room. There's no door, so should I knock on the wall or something? Maybe turn on some music and make a grand entrance? Oh I know! I can go wake Marko up, grab my "rock box", and we can parade through there singing "Run Through The Jungle" by CCR! I grin at my idea. They'd love that for sure!

"What are you smiling at? And don't you know it's creepy to watch someone while they're sleeping? The sparkly bitch vampire on my shirt did that to his girlfriend in "Twilight". Don't be that guy, Paul!" Courtney whispers loudly, scaring the piss out of me. How did she get out of the bed without me noticing, let alone end up right in front of me?! I'm telling you, she's a leprechaun!

She gathers an outfit together and saunters down the hall towards the pool area. I mind-link David to go with her since Sam isn't awake yet. I made sure to tell him to stay outside of the room while she's in there. We don't need his "I am the king and I can do what I want" attitude to screw up our plans to go with them. I love the guy like family, but sometimes his temper gets us into trouble.

I quietly leave the room, but not before knocking over something heavy to wake Sam up. She quietly rolls over and cracks her eyes open, murder evident in her gaze. Oh my fuck! I forgot she's not a morning person! Before I could even think about running, one of Dwayne's books that Courtney borrowed comes sailing in the direction of my face. It misses me as I lean to the side with a smile. Crisis avoided. I am too good!

I look up from where the book landed only to have a notebook come flying at me. It hit me in the side of the head, but it wasn't too bad because my hair took most of the impact. Thank you to the hairspray gods! I throw my hands up in surrender.

"Sorry! So very, very sorry! I totally forgot you're not a morning person...except it's not morning. It's night time. But hey, whatever! I'll wait for you in the main room! Marko should be back with your caffeine soon!" I tried to disappear as fast as the little leprechaun seems to appear in a room, but I failed miserably.

"Food's here you guys!" Marko calls out as he flies in the entrance.

I grab a coffee out of his hand and set it to the side for Sam. I'll need an apology present when she finally emerges from what I like to call her "hate state". Unfortunately for me, I'm the target of said state right now but hopefully not for long, thanks to Marko.

I feel the mind link open between us. Wonder what they can't say in front of the girls now?

Marko: Guys, I want to know more about the year 2020. What all has changed from now to then? I don't want to be blind sided, ya know?

Me: Me too! I still don't know what that thing is that plays the horrible music!

Dwayne: I'd like to know who qualifies as a Carolina Panther?

David: Do we even know where they live? Cause that's where we'll be living. On a beach? In the mountains? In a big city? I really hope it's not a big city. Those give me the creeps.

Me: We also need to talk to them about Max. I can't see either of them standing idly by when it comes time to, ya know... murder the dude.

David: We'll take them out tonight and talk. Maybe they have ideas on how we can get it done.

Dwayne: Max isn't stupid. If we know the plan ahead of time, then he'll know something is up as soon as he sees us. It the girls he doesn't know. If they can hold it down in front of him, we should have a decent chance at it.

Marko: I have faith in them!

      Me: I'm Team Girls!

Dwayne: Please don't make us wear r shirts with that on it.

David: If we have to rely on the girls to get it done, we better start praying now.

I 100% believe in the ladies. They've been pretty badass so far! If all else fails, they can pester Max to death by calling him every name except his own. Apparently that gets under his skin. I grin to myself as I watch the girls leap out of the hallway and into the main room.

I quickly snatch up the coffee as Sam shoots a glare at me. She then looks down at the drink and scurries over to where I'm standing.

"If you know what's good for you, you'll give me that cup!" She murmurs to me as she reaches for it.

"Is that any way to treat your favorite vampire?" I say to her in my Dracula voice. I show her my fangs in a grin.

She blushes and rolls her eyes. I wink at her and hand her the cup. That's right, Lady Friend. I know I'm your favorite!

"Eat up girls, so we can head out." David yells out as he heads outside.

They scarf down the rest of their food and walk slowly outside. We're all standing on the cliff. Courtney looks at us confused.

"I thought we were going out?" She asked as she pointed to the bikes.

"We are, My Dear. But we're not taking the bikes." David says with a glint in his eye.

"Then how..." Sam starts to ask as I grab her waist and yank her hard against me. She wraps her arms around my neck. I grin down at her in the moonlight.

       "We fly!"
