"J-Jaydee?! What are yo-" Isabella begins to say, before a finger goes to her mouth.
"Shh~! I'm not supposed to be out here due to the paparazzi!" Jaydee hushed her, sitting down and pulling his jacket collar up around his face.
"Right, what are you doing here? And how would you know I'd be here?"
"I have eyes, also known as your mom."
"Mom- oh for crying out loud... But why are you here?"
"I wanted to come help, plus I heard you just came back from Evony's place."
"You hired me for a reason right? This is my job, not yours."
"I know, but this is important to me to okay?!"
"...you're an idiot you know right?"
"You don't have to remind me! Just tell me what you found out."
"Well, I think you should take a look for yourself."
Isabella turns the laptop towards Jaydee and plays the front porch clip from the night before. She watches his eyes widden behind his sunglasses as he turns it back rewards her.
"Well, I have no words..." Jaydee mutters, leaning back in his chair.
"That's what I thought. Now we just gotta find out who it is. It's gotta be someone in the area of the manor, so what men live there?" Isabella says, taking the final bite if her sandwich.
"Well, there's Bruce Ryans, Zachary Kingston, and Jimmy Nelson. They're the closet men to Evony within the housing district that I know about. I'm guessing you're gonna do your research first?"
"Indeed, I wanna know as much as I can about these guys-"
"Save it for later. Don't you wanna spend time with me?"
"I've already spent a few hours with you this morning. Plus you said you wanted to help, so that's what you're gonna do."
"Fair point, so what do you want me to do?"
"Go to any wiki page or any good resources for learning about anything between Evony and Bruce, I'm working on Zachary's details."
"On it, I'll let you know anything that's important. Though I don't need a phone for that, you've got me."
"Alright, give me some details on Zachary then." Isabella responds looking up from her Laptop.
"Well for one," Jaydee begins, "You're gonna wanna take notes."
"Already got a blank document open."
"Good. So, Zachary is normally invited over to Evony's for tea every Sunday and Thursday afternoon. James is there sometimes too, and from what he's told me, they seem pretty close."
"So you and James are also close I'm guessing?"
"Yup, though I've tried calling him today and so far nothing, in case you were wondering."
"In that case, when is he coming home? Evony never told me when exactly."
"Well, he's supposed to be here Thursday. That's what I heard him tell the press, he still has business to do over in Europe that he couldn't cancel so that's why he isn't coming over right away."
"I see, anyways. Continue on about Zachary."
"Ah yes. So he actually was the writer for Evony's new film. Which is indeed a romance, in an interview that I happened to be on set for, he claims he got insperation from Evony and James. They even started seeing each other more often since they've been working on it."
"Interesting, alright. What about Bruce? Seems like a nice guy based on all his dating profiles."
"What makes you say that? Are you trying to find any love right now~?"
"No you idiot. It's literally all over his google search results."
"Ah~ Yeah that makes sense. He's been secretly going out on one night stands for months Evony has told me. She even admits she'd get with him if she wasn't anyway married. And he has shown some slight interest in her as well."
"Really? That's kinda out of the normal... And what about Jimmy? Anything on him?"
"He's happily married to his wife of 8 months, Florencia RodrÃguez. They seem like a very happy couple, though years before even Evony met James, Jimmy did date Evony for a few years until she met James and they broke up. His choice, not hers. So there still could be part of her who wants him back."
"I heard about that, it was a pretty big deal back in the day. It's been since like what? Back when I was just getting a name in my business?"
"Yeah, I really didn't see you as much after that too... You were always caught up in some new case."
"Well it's also at that time you were getting into some small acting gigs. I did come and see you every time, even if I couldn't get the chance to meet you afterwords. And then you got into films... And that's really where we just lost connection."
"True... How about, you and me, a movie, my place, tomorrow night. Sound like a plan?"
"You know what, sure! Maybe we can even have a sleepover, like the good old days?"
       "Oo~ So it's a date?"
"Not a date, I'm still working on a case and I can't get distracted too much. It's just two friends hanging out after years of no contact."
       "...Yeah that works too."
They both laugh it off, and Jaydee takes a moment to look at Isabella, admiring her, before she looks at him.
"Wait, how did you get here? I didn't hear a car or anything pull up while I was here. It's at least an hour walk here too." Isabella asks.
Jaydee awkwardly looks out the window.
"Tell me, how did you get here?"
"I may~ have quickly jumped into your back trunk while you were starting your car..."
Isabella gives Jaydee a stone cold look.
"Yup, you're fucking weird. How'd you even get out of there?!"
"I've done it before in a similar model. Do you remember that time in highschool where a bunch of guys beat me up, and locked me im the back of Mr. Labowski's car. And you were beating the crap out of the guy's and I managed to find a way out of the trunk? Yup..."
"... Huh, I forgot about that. Still, why did you get in my back trunk?!"
"Like I said, your mother told me that you normally come here everyday, that's also where I got your number."
"How long have you been talking to my mom?!"
"To be honest, I've been coming here for a few month's. I only found out your mom runed the place after I mentioned you in a conversation."
      "What find of conversation?"
"How am I supposed to remember?! It's been a while okay?"
      "Fair enough."

They continued to talk until Isabella has so go home. She drops Jaydee off to the back of his house and she drives home. Entering her apartment, she begins to stick notes up on her blank board and uses  string to connect multiple parts together, all going towards the middle, where it's just a question mark.
After a while, she finally sits back in her chair to look and notice that the string parts sort of replicate a de-formed heart. Isabella just sighs when she notices it, and looks outside the window at the rain. She listens to the rain, and the song of "Put Your Head On My Shoulder" by Pual Anka coming from the room above her.
Isabella then flops over on her couch, and just stares at the ceiling, listening to the calming sounds around her. She almost falls asleep, until her brain starts to process what has happened today. From waking up to work on a case, to chilling with an old friend, and then seeing him time after time where ever she goes. She sinks into the thought process as her lips slowly curl up into a nice smile.
Sleeping around 6 isn't the ideal time for her, so Isabella just continues to listen to the music from above and the rain, as she picks up an old picture from her drawer, of her and Jaydee watching a movie, curled up in a blanket, and them both smiling at the camera. She then places the picture on her nightstand, and then watches the cars drive down the street, splashing water at every puddle they drive over.
And just like that, Isabella grabs a pillow from her bed, lies down, and cuddles the pillow as she falls asleep. That smile stayed on her face the whole time.
