A/N: Picture above in honor of the 21st anniversary of the release of Californication. I don't own this or any other of the pics in this story. Can't believe it's been 21 years. I feel old :)
Ellie's POV (still):
This is incredibly creepy. But while John was showering, I decided to use the upstairs bathroom down the hall from the main bathroom where he was showering. I took a bit longer than normal to wash my hands, and open the door slightly, hoping to catch a glimpse of him in his towel and nothing else. I do this several times before I realize I'm either going to get caught and be mortified, or just plain not be successful at catching a glimpse of his torso or more.
I don't think there have been any pictures of John topless in public for at least 13 years now. But I bet he still looks hot. He looks very healthy and slim, like he takes care of himself. I'm a fan in particular of his long hair days, particularly from the Slane Castle era where his hair was at his longest and he was totally buff. He looks like he might be growing it out again. Regardless, he looks good and I'm still crushing on and fantasizing about him like a teenager. I've never seen or kissed lips like his in my life until now.
I head downstairs gingerly to find Sophia talking to John's cats. I'm sure they find her absolutely fascinating. Kerri texts me the name and address of the restaurant. Looks like Mexican food for tonight, smack dab in the middle of Hollywood. Kerri is L.A. born and bred and knows where absolutely everything is. I was born at UCLA hospital but East Coast raised and educated. I wish my parents had stayed here.
Eventually John comes down the stairs, looking fresh in a plaid shirt untucked and khaki pants. I make eye contact with him and my heart skips a proverbial beat. Very handsome. He's not wearing his glasses yet, so I have a full view of his sweet eyes and smile. I like his glasses too, though. "Ready to go?" he asks.
I realize that the entire time I was trying to play Peeping Tom on John, I really did nothing to freshen myself up. "Sure, just let me use the restroom and put some lipstick on," I say. "Sophie, go to the other bathroom and wash your hands at least."
"But you don't need any lipstick, Ellie," John says sweetly. I start turning pink again. I squeak out a "you're too kind, thank you, but I don't want to look completely whitewashed."
I put some of my Fiery Fuschia lipstick on in the bathroom over a layer of Chapstick, and run my brush through my long hair. I also adjust my strapless bra which feels a little uncomfortable. I don't exactly have big boobs so I could probably have gotten away without wearing a bra. I think about how much pleasure thinking of John playing with my nipples gave me last night, and the nipples start to harden. I snap back to reality, pull my bra and dress back up, and head back down.
John sits in the front seat of the car, Sophie in the back. I put my phone GPS on. At the same time, Sophia drags my computer out and reaches forward to turn the car stereo on. "I bet you know this one, John!" "Modern Love" starts blasting from the speakers. I had forgotten I had even loaded Bowie on to my computer.
"I'm standing in the wind, but I never wave bye-bye!"I hear singing full blast from the backseat. Then both Sophie and John, at the top of their lungs, "But I try, I try! There's no sign of life, It's just the power to charm, I'm lying in the rain, but I never wave bye-bye! But I try, I tryyyy.."
"Guys, guys, enough!" I shout, trying not to laugh at the same time. Do you want me to drive off a cliff because of your yowling? I don't know where anything is around here.." They both start laughing, and worst of all keep singing.
"Never gonna fall for Modern Love, once besides me, Modern Love, walks on by me. Modern Love." I pull over. It has now come to my attention that I am dealing with two overgrown children here. I shut the stereo off, but the music keeps coming through the computer. Both John and Sophie are still singing and laughing hysterically at me at the same time. I seriously don't want to make a bad driving mistake and look at both of them sternly. It's particularly hard to give John a hard stare. He's just so damn cute and I'm not used to him the way I am to Sophie.
