Jo's POV
Early morning of Day 5...I should really stop staring at him, but it's so hard. I wanna be there for him, every cry, every giggle, just everything because I'm scared it's gonna be the last.
We don't have anything for our baby Elijah yet, so he's sleeping between me and Hero. It amazes me how Hero is just taking him in as his own, but it's also making my heart melt.
"Have you slept at all?" A low, husky voice asks me. Hero.
"No... I'm scared if I do he'll disappear." I say softly and kiss Elijahs head, and he moves closer to me. I might not be used to this new mom stuff, but it's like he knows it's me.
"He's not gonna disappear baby," he tells me and Elijah stirs a bit and his eyes open slowly. Hero kisses his cheek a bunch of times and instead of crying like I thought he would, he starts giggling like a mad man, well baby.
"Momma?" He looks at me and I nod, giving him a kiss that makes his smile brighter.
"Yeah, I'm momma, and that's dada," I smile more, pushing back the tears.
He turns his face and smiles still, starting to giggle. "Da...dada!" He says and gets on his knees a bit, throwing himself at Hero to hug him.
I see the tears start to form in Hero's eyes. "Yeah... yeah I'm your dad." Elijah keeps hugging him, so I take a picture.
When Elijah notices he puts the cutest little scowl on his face and looks at me. "No pick-tores momma!" He says and I laugh, which makes him laugh.
"Like father like son," I smile and kiss Hero's cheek. I look over at the door when I hear little footsteps at the door.
"Jo...?" A small voice asks and I smile, knowing it's Sofie.
"Honey you can come in," I smile and she nods, closing the door behind her. "Come here," I say and pat the area on the bed next to me.
"Where are we?" She asks softly once I get her up on the bed. Hero occupies Elijah by playing with him.
I smile a bit, pulling her close. "Well do you see that man next to us?" I ask and point at Hero, who just keeps acting like he can't hear us.
"He's pretty..." she absentmindedly says.
I chuckle, "He's mine kid," she smiles so I continue. "We're at his penthouse. We have baby Elijah here, and my sister Kathrine." I smile but she frowns.
"What about mom and dad? Are they still there? I can't remember... I can't remember!" She starts crying and I pull her closer for her to cry into my chest.
"Hey, hey it's okay... it's okay honey. They're still there but we're gonna try to get them today or tomorrow. And you'll get your memories back soon, and if not you can have better new ones." I kiss her head and Hero hands me the picture. It fell before so I'll give it to her now.
"I know we need to get you a room and more clothes, but I did take one thing when I got you last night." I say softly and she pulls back when I hand her the picture. Her adorable face becomes full of new tears quickly.
"It's me, mom, and dad. We went to a carnival and there were a lot of clowns and I thought they were funny looking so we got a picture." She smiles and wipes her tears. Sofie hugs me again, tighter then before. "Thank you Jo," she says and I smile.
"It's no problem, but do you know your way back to your room? You should go back to sleep for a few hours." I say softly and kiss her cheek.
She nods, but before she can hop off the bed Elijah taps her. She turns to him, and he stumbles a bit on the bed before he hugs her. "Don't be sad, be happy!" He smiles as he hugs her.
