Jo's POV
Six months later..."Elijah, no!" I hear Hero yell from the living room and I chuckle. Hero has really gotten into his roll as a dad, and Elijah decided he was gonna play with anything he can get his hands on. He's over a year old now, and I'm just trying to make up for lost time.
It's Saturday, so everyone is home. No school, or work, just home. Kat comes in smiling, we eventually started speaking again but I don't leave her home with Elijah. "He's a little terror," she jokes and I nod.
"Where' Sofie, breakfast is ready," I say and as if on cue, Sofie emerges from the hallway.
"Hey big girl," I say and she sits on the bar stool. I put a plate of bacon and toast in front of both her and Kat.
"So I'm guessing we're not getting eggs anymore," Kat says and I nod.
"Yeah, they don't sell the good ones," I say and she nods. We haven't told the kids yet... I don't know when I'll be ready too. I get Elijahs food and Hero puts him in his high chair, places the bib on him before coming over to me.
"You should've let me cook this morning, you should be restinggg," he tells me and I laugh before he kisses me.
"I'm eating, get a room!" Sofie tells and I laugh, laying my head on Hero.
"How do you feel?" He asks in my ear and I shrug. I don't know how I feel honestly, I think I keep pushing down the feeling so I can focus on my kids, on my family.
"Okay," I say softly and he rests his hand on my stomach.
"Everything is gonna be okay baby, you got 6 months left," he tells me. I mean it's not the first time I've been pregnant, but I don't remember the other pregnancy that much...
The thing that sucks the most is the nightmares. They never stop. You think that they did and then suddenly you get one again and it sucks. Apparently the same things happening to Kat but she doesn't have to worry about her stress levels.
"I don't feel good," I finally decide and bury my head in Hero's chest. He keeps me close and Elijah tries throwing food at us. Like I said, I normally push this feeling down because of work or something, but today we're free.
"Do you feel like this a lot baby?" He asks me and I nod.
"I- I just don't wanna distract you from work. I mean when you leave your so focused on what you have to do that I don't wanna get in the way." I say and he shakes his head, kissing me.
"Never worry about that, let me clean Elijah and then we can lay on the couch and watch him play, okay?" He tells me and I nod. Katherine says she'll wash the dishes, and I feel bad but I guess she can do it.
Once Elijah is clean, Hero puts him in his play pen and we sit on the couch. He keeps kissing my small belly, and Sofie comes up to us.
"Why are you kissing her belly?" She asks and me and Hero look at each other.
"So you know how Elijah is your brother now?" I ask and she nods. After everything, we found out that Sofie's parents both died in the fire. She had no one, so we adopted her, and Hero technically adopted Elijah too. "Well you're gonna have a new sibling soon." I smile and so does she.
"I'm gonna have another baby brother or sister?" She asks and me and Hero nod. Honestly this was an accident but I'm so happy it happened.
5 1/2 months later...
I'm holding Hero's arms as we stand in the kitchen. I'm so happy Hero's parents said that the kids can stay with her during the next month or so. I need to be alone with Hero and my sister, not worrying about what I'm saying.
