Hero's POV
The same day...I'm at home with the kids.
Oh god that sounds weird but it's so true.
I'm getting worried though, I mean why isn't she back? I hold Elijah who I think is starting to miss him mom because he's being a bit fussy.
"Mmmmm," he kinda groans with a mad pout on his face. I pick him up and he rests his head in my neck, rubbing his eyes a bit.
"Does someone miss momma?" I ask and he nods, holding me tighter. I kiss his forehead and he keeps the pout, but it's more sad now. "I miss her too," I say to him softly.
"Dada..." he says kinda scared and holds me still. I look up to see Kat approaching, but I realize that he hasn't seen her yet.
"That's your aunt Kat," I say softly and I look up to see Kat frowning.
"He's not gonna like me for a long time," she says very softly and I look at her confused.
"What, why?" I ask and he wipes her tears, and I know she got her memories back.
"They... they don't give the drugs to the kids until a certain age. That's why Sofie had it. I've... he must knows how I was mad at Jo for having him. And how I basically hated him and showed him that..." she bites her lip and I say softly. "You look good as a dad though, definitely better looking then his actual father." She chuckles and wipes her eyes again.
"It'll get better Kat, I promise," I say and she nods, but I know that she doesn't believe it. When I feel my phone constantly buzzing I finally answer it.
"Hello? Wait, what? Oh my god, I'll be there." I say and look at Elijah. Guess I have to bring him.
"What? Where's Jo?" Kat asks, panicked but seemingly calm. What's that about?
"She's passed out, at my offices I have to go get her." She exhales deeply, "What's going into Kat, what do you know?"
She stands there, eyes wide and that's when I notice my baby Elijah fell asleep. "You... you should go get her." Is all she says and I stare at her unmoving. "Mason said she was gonna get her again... they keep saying she's special, Hero, I don't know why but apparently she's the one that's gonna save them when they burn..."
"Fuck, I'm going," I say and get Elijahs car seat before I walk out the door. "Watch Sofie," I say and lock the door, going down to my car and making my way to my office.
When he gets there...
I park in my spot, courtesy of being the boss, and grab Elijah before going into the building. "Where is she?" I ask the secretary and she leads me to the conference room where Jo is. Just laying on a table.
"Momma!" Elijah yells, making hands as if he wanted to grab her. When she doesn't move his face falls, breaking my heart. "Momma...?" He says with his lip quivering.
"Oh no, she's okay, I promise she's okay," I say holding him in my chest, even though I don't know if she's okay...
I go over to her, moving the hair out of her face. She's shivering yet I know she has a fever from how her forehead is feeling. "Come on baby, please wake up," I say softly and she stirs, slowly fluttering her eyes open.
"Hero..?" She says and I nod, I help her into a chair and pull one next to her. "He wanted to keep me there..." she says and I wipe the already fallen tears.
"Momma okay?" Elijah asks in my chest turns his head around. When he sees her up, he basically jumps out of my arms to her. "Momma! Momma! Momma!" He yells happily and Jo takes him, holding him closer as tears are falling down her face.
