I sit on the bathroom counter top as my mother cleaned my cuts and bruises. At lease school didnt start for another 3 weeks so i didnt have to start school looking like i just got jumped or gang banged. "Almost done" my mother said as she placed a cotton ball with cleaning alcohol onto the largest cut on my face, i winced and she lightened her pressure on it. When she was done she walked away without another word. I looked in the mirror and horror filled my eyes, i looked like i had just gotten ran over by a herd of zebras or something. "Fuck" i whispered under my breath making sure no one heard me or i would have gotten beaten again. I went to my room and locked the door, i decided to change into my pajamas cause it was now going on 5 pm and i knew i wouldn't be eating dinner tonight unless my dad was passed out on the couch again so it was a 50/50 chance. I slipped on my black boxers and my large pastel blue champion shirt that hung down to my mid thighs. I walked over to my bed and turned on my fairy lights and layed down, i had decided to scroll through Instagram just to see the latest knew. I ended up falling asleep and woke up to my alarm and my father screaming at me, "if you dont turn this alarm clock off after the first beep again I WILL SMASH IT WITH A BAT AND MAKE YOU CLEAN IT UP OUTSIDE AND I DONT CARE IF IT IS RAIN SNOW OR HAIL!" my father yelled. "Yes sir" is all i said in response. I looked at the clock and it was only 7:39 so i went back to sleep.
