Chapter 6: Hermione Finds Out..

Third Person’s POV

Professor Snape waited in his office for Hermione trying to enjoy his few moments a peace and trying to figure out the best way to break the news to the young witch. Groaning quietly he put his elbows on the top of his desk and rubbed his temples. Things can never be simple! He thought as he heard a knock on the door. “Enter” he drawled out leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms.

Hermione opened the door and walked over to the couch sitting against the wall. “Harry said you wished to speak with me Professor?” she said placing her hands nervously in her lap. Professor Snape got up and walked around to the front of his desk and leaned against it. “Miss Granger there is a… matter… that I need to discuss with you that is quite… important.” He drawled in his usual deep, mono toned voice.

She looked up at him curiously. “What is it Sir?” Professor Snape crossed his arms and looked down at her. “Miss Granger you have been being placed under an Imperious Curse…” at this Hermione grew wide eyed and a bit faint. “S-sir?” she stuttered. “I assume Mister Potter has made mention of moments when you have said things regarding Mister Malfoy that you do not remember?” Hermione suddenly realized why Harry had left in such a hurry… “He came to you earlier didn’t he?  He had spoken to me before Malfoy and I left to go on patrol.” She fidgeted in her seat looking rather alarmed at the thought of being under an Imperious.

Professor Snape stood up straight keeping his arms crossed “I assure you Miss Granger we will be working to figure out who is doing this and why. Can you think of anybody that would want to hurt you or Mister Malfoy?” Hermione shook her head. Who would do such a cruel thing! She thought standing up and crossing her own arms feeling rather violated. Professor Snape pursed his lips and then thought about what Potter had said about Hermione telling Draco. “Miss Granger, might I recommend that you let Mister Malfoy know of this situation. The things you have said to him… well… he has not taken lightly.” She nodded and made a mental note to speak with Malfoy as soon as she got back to her common room.

“Professor I think I would like to return to my common room now, it’s rather late. If I think of anybody I will let you or Harry know.” Hermione walked over to the door put paused before reaching out to open it. Turning back to the Professor she asked… “Does Professor McGonagall know about this Sir?” Snape nodded as he went to sit back down but then thought it better to escort the young witch back to her common room. “Come Miss Granger, I will walk you back to your dorm as we do not know what is going on or if you are in any danger.”

Professor Snape and Hermione walked back to the 4th floor where the Head dorms were. Hermione nodded her thanks to him and then muttered “Wackspurts” to Remus who promptly opened the portrait door. She stepped inside and looked around. It was 2:30AM now and she didn’t see any signs of Draco. Walking over to his door she knocked. Nothing.

Hermione knocked a little harder and suddenly the door swung open revealing Draco in a snug white shirt and sweatpants. “What is it Granger? Some of us do like to get some sleep before they have to go to class.” He said in a tired voice. Hermione dragged her eyes down his body, which was quite toned she noted as she noticed the snug shirt hugging his muscles. With a bit of effort she forced her eyes up to meet his which still looked rather sad but with a hint of amusement. “You know Granger, I know I’m good looking but it’s quite early to knock on somebody’s door just to stare at them.” She blushed deep red and glanced away briefly sucking in a breath of air. There’s the Malfoy we all know… Turning back she saw a small trace of his signature Malfoy smirk appear on his face.
