"Mom. I'm leaving!" I shout. My mom shakily walks over. Her condition over the past couple months hasn't gotten any better. In fact, it's only gotten worse. She hugs me. "Have a good day honey" she says before letting go and kissing my forehead. "I will, bye mom". I grabbed my hoverboard and walked out the door

"I'm home mom!" I shout as I walk through the door. But I didn't get a reply. Usually, mom would be waiting in the living room for me to get home but she was nowhere to be seen. "Mom!" I yell again. No answer. I guess she fell asleep. I walk to my room and set down my bag. I started to take out my homework when "El!" I heard someone yell. "Mom!" I yell as I run to her room. There she was on the floor coughing up a lot of blood. "OMG!" I grab her phone and quickly call 911. "911 what is your emergency" I hear on the other end of the phone. My mom continues to cough. "We need an ambulance, quick!" I yell into the phone. "Okay we'll send one, can you please explain what's going on" the woman on the other end says calmly. "My mom, she's very Sick, she's coughing up a lot of blood" I manage to speak even as I'm hyperventilating. "Ok stay calm, paramedics will be there soon" she said. I hang up the phone and run to my mom. "El" she says as her coughing starts to calm down. "Your gonna be okay mom, help is on the way" I say. She finally stops coughing "El, it's too late" she says. "No, don't say that! You're gonna be okay" I say. Tears are streaming down my face. "No El, I'm dying" she says. "No, you're not gonna die, help is coming!" I yell. "El, you're a brave girl you always have been" She Caresses my check. "Stay strong" she started coughing again but very violently this time. She covered her mouth but some of the blood still went through her fingers. And then she stopped. Her hand fell limp. And she closed her eyes. I shake her. "Mom?" I say trying to wake her up. "Mom!" I shake more. "MOM!" I shout. Then sirens were heard. I hug her cold body and cry. Cry as the sirens get louder and louder. I cried until I heard yelling and footsteps. I felt people grasping my arms and pulling me away from my mother. I screamed. What I can't remember. All I remember is being pulled away and seeing them roll my mother body away with a blanket over it............. My mother, the only person who ever cared about me, the only person who ever loved me, my best friend.....

                                   Was dead

I shoot up finding myself in a sleeping bag. "You okay El?" I hear a voice next to me. I turn to see Syd with a look of concern. "Yea, just a bad dream" I say. Syd nods. But that was no dream that was a memory. A memory I will never forget as long as I live. "Well anyway, I came to get you, we started digging the spot for the new camp" she says. I get up and we walk over to met everyone else.
