Is she hiding something?

"Have you been talking to that new girl?" Morgan asks as I sit in the library and read. "Yea, I'm helping Syd take care of her" I explain. "She's kind of weird" Morgan brings up. "She has been alone in the forest for 7 years. What do you expect?" I point out. "Yea, but she's nuts! I walked past her room once and heard her talking to herself". I look at Morgan. "What?" I ask. "Yea, I walked past her room and she was saying something like 'do I have the right person' 'is she really the girl saw in the woods' I think she's lost it". I think about this. For the first time I actually considered what Syd had said when she first arrived.

"I have a feeling we just found the queen of demons"

How did I ever doubt her? The fallen soldiers instincts are right 99% of the time. But like I said to Syd I can't just run in and ask "hey Sky how you doing! Anyway do you happen to talk to ghosts?" That's crazy. Because she could just be thinking out loud in the privacy of her own room. I've done that a time or two. Guess I'll have to be subtle about it and see if she understands. "I'm gonna go" I tell Morgan as I grab my book and head to the exit. I head to Syd's room and knock on the door. Syd opens and I'm greeted with a smile. "Hey El, what's up?" She says. "Can I come in?" I ask. She nods and opens her door further to let me inside. I walk in and turn to face her. "Remember when you said you thought Sky was the queen of demons?" I ask. Syd furrows her eyebrows and nods. "I think I'm with you on this one" I explain. She crosses her arms. "Did you come up with this because the queen of demons woke up a year after Skyler went missing?" She asks. "No, but that is just more reasoning" I say. "Morgan told me that she hears Skyler talking to herself" I explain. Syd gives me this look. It was a look that said "You can't be serious" and I knew the exact reason. "I know what you're going to say so before you do let me re sight your brain. 'Morgan is nothing but trouble' or 'how could you believe anything she says' right" I say making my voice mimic hers. She nodded. "Yea pretty much". "Okay well, she told me things that she was saying, she said she was talking about some girl she met in the woods, and that this girl might be here" I tell her. She brings her hand to her chin. She looks lost in thought. "You think she is talking about a ghost?" Syd asks. I nod. "If she was the queen of demons why would she be surprised that she saw a ghost that she also saw in the woods?" Syd asks. "How am I supposed to know that!" I shout. "You're reasoning doesn't quite add up but.....I think I have a way we can ask her"

Later that day me and Syd Went into Skyler's room. She turned to look at us and greeted us. "Hey we have a question" Syd gets straight to the point. "Oh, go ahead" Sky says, giving her permission to ask. "Do you know anything about the queen of demons?" Syd asks. Sky didn't show any emotion in her face. "Do you know something?" sky recipes with a question. "No, we have just heard rumors that you're the queen of demons" I speak up. Syd elbows me. "Ow" I say. "Well I know why you might have heard rumors like that" Sky speaks up. Syd stops glaring at me and looks back at Sky. "She did wake up in the same time period I went missing, and there is one girl spreading another rumor about me talking to myself, I don't know if you have heard that one" Sky explains. So Morgan was lying. I guess she just wanted to pick on her then. "But I wouldn't worry about me, there are rumors about you guys too" Me and Syds eyes widened. "What are you talking about!?" Syd speaks up. Well mostly about You Syd but there are a couple about you too El". We both just stare at her waiting for her to explain. "Since you are a soldier Syd people think you might be the fallen soldier, and I have heard that a monster attacked the camp and you both were nowhere to be seen" She explains. "Not only that but I also heard that when you're both mad strange things happen, for Syd the ground starts shaking or lots of wind goes through the building and El is upset that her palms go red". Is that true. Have me and Syd not been as careful as we thought. "So it looks like you also have a lot of people on your back, so maybe you should focus on that and get off mine" She smiles but her eyes are filled with malice. "Right well thank you for bringing this to our attention, We'll be going now" Syd speaks up. She grabs my wrist and we run out of the room. Once we close the door Syd leans against the wall and slides down. "Well damn" is all I could say. "El we HAVE to be more careful!" Syd states and then looks up at me. I nod. I reach out my hand and Syd takes it. I help her up. "You wanna go for a walk?" Syd asks. "Yea" I replied. I still think Skyler is hiding something, but now I'm not as confident in what. Me and Syd walk towards the entrance of the camp. Little did we know that someone was listening through her door and now knew exactly what we were hiding.
