In the beginning, it was perfect. Isn't everything? Luke still called me Snoopy Poopy and I still remembered all his favorite things. Doing things together didn't seem like a chore. I guess it was the honeymoon phase. After a while, it all faded to grey. When did it start? Why did it start?

It was last summer, the languid hot hear mingling with our slow melting ice cream cones. We went out, wearing our black shades and hoods, laughing at how stupid we looked. We held hands in the hoodie pockets, not exactly out there but not exactly a secret. It was youthful, beautiful, everything that I even wanted out of a relationship. Until...
"Oh my god, it's Luke Hemmings!"
Somehow, his hoard of fangirls had found us and swarmed around like ants to honey. And my sweet, gentle Luke was the stickiest honey around. Once the ants got in, they couldn't get out.

We quickly let go of our hands when that first battle cry was heard. Our relationship couldn't get out! If it did, both our reputations would be tarnished. Luke's, as a teenage heartthrob, and me, Snoop, as a stone cold rapper.

I believe that was how our first link broke. Somehow, I felt the distance between us grow from that moment on. It was like Luke was in a whole new different world.

"Babe, please answer the phone. I miss you. Did I do something wrong? Call me back. I love you." The answering machine beeped and I was left with a hole in my gold chain.

There are many rocks at the bottom of the ocean. If I dropped a rock, eventually, it would sink to the bottom and settle. By density, this would have to happen. Sometimes, I wonder if our relationship was the same.

Morning light streams through the blinds, illuminating his high arching cheekbones and scrunched forehead. Gentle snoring fills the rooms, almost like a lullaby. Slowly, Luke blinks his eyes open, revealing those ocean blue eyes. He smiles at me.
"Mornin, Snoopy Poopy." What an adorable accent.
"Mornin, Luke."
I wish this could last forever. But wishes never come true.

It was the calm of the storm. The straining of a dam with too much water. Luke's fame was becoming too much, and mine was fading. I should've known when those girls recongized Luke before me. The pressure was overflowing. I couldn't bare to look at him anymore, knowing one day, he would forget me. So, I decided to end it. Before he could. Before the scars on my gold chain broke.

"Please Snoop, I'm begging you! I love you. Please don't leave me. Just tell me what I did wrong."

"I can change. I can change everything about me. I'll stop singing. I'll become a rapper. I can change anything, everything, except for the fact I'll always love you."

"Snoop, if what we had was real....how could you be fine?"

"IS IT BECAUSE I TOPPED? DO YOU WANT TO FUCK ME INSTEAD? I THOUGHT YOU LIKED IT."

"Do you have someone else? Did you find someone who can keep up with your rapping?"

"I thought you loved me."

I do.
