A month later the prelims was now going to start . In Tokiwadai arena students from 8 different school came to participate.
In the center of the stadium the participants were standing. Excel was looking in front. He was ready to take anyone down around him. From Excel's school 8 other participants. Excel being a part of the council didn't require to take part in the selection matches .
Man : Good Morning students. I welcome you to prelims of world mage championship. I hope you have a great experience here . Now I want to call previous year's winner Erza.
Erza : Hello my fellow students. Today you are going to take the first step towards being a champion. I wish all of you best of luck.
After the opening ceremony Erza came to meet with Excel in his waiting room.
Erza : All the best.
Excel : You didn't tell me you were the champion.
Erza : Ohh that. Not only me but Natsu, Gray and Lucy . We all were winners .
Excel : Ohh.
After there little chat it was time for Excel's first match.
Announcer : It time for the Fourth match of the First round . Excel versus Akin.
Akin: So you are the famous loser .
Excel : I didn't know I was that famous .
Akin : Yeah. You are .
Announcer : Begin.
Akin : Earth Wave
Akin kicked the ground and suddenly the ground turned into a big wave . It was heading towards Excel. As soon as the wave hit Excel . No it didn't even hit him . The before reaching him calmed down.
Akin : What the . Rock Throw
Akin formed to magic circles and throwwed rocks at Excel but as soon they came a certain distance near him . The rocks shattered.
Excel : Air Blast
... Nothing happened. Everybody in the stadium burst out laughing.
Akin : I knew you were weak but now you can't even cast a spe...
BOOM
Akin crashed against the wall. The stadium went silent in an instant.
Announcer : And the winner is Excel.
Excel walked out of the field like a total badass. That day first round was over . Excel, Luck ,Katz and Misaki got qualified for the second round.
Aria : Excel you were awesome .
Pansy : Yeah .
Izanami : Not bad.
Later, that night all four of them went to a family restaurant. But Excel was stuck in between them so he couldn't enjoy his food.
In School
There was three days remaining before the Second Round. None of the students dates to talk to Excel except the girls.
Luck : See Excel what did I tell you ! You had more power.
Excel : Yeah whatever.
Luck : Let's have a quick fight during the magic class.
Excel : Tsk. Whatever.
Later in Magic Class
Luck : Here. I go. Thunder Dragon Strike
Luck released bolts of lightning in the shape of a dragon. It was direct hit. But Excel survived.
Excel : Is that it ? Plasma Ray
The laser was quick but luck was quicker .
The ground beneath Excel started breaking. He throwed 4 giant rocks towards but Luck broke throw them at a high speed.
But as soon as Luck tried to punch Excel. Luck was knocked out of the room.
Luck was unconscious .
The rest of the 2 days not much fun .
Excel seeped the whole competition. He defeated Luck in the Second Round, a boy name Katz in the third round , Misaki couldn't enter his mind so she surrendered but finally it was time for finals.
Excel will face a boy named Laul in the finals .
