I was front row at Roy's show. He was just getting ready to come out on stage. The lights went low as a voice said the words we were all waiting for.

"Ladies and Gentlemen Roy Orbison!" The announcer said.

It was in that moment, Roy Orbison walked out on stage. He got in his spot and just stood there standing and singing.

"Pretty woman, walking down the street

Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet

Pretty woman

I don't believe you, you're not the truth

No one could look as good as you."

The next line went to the crowd. We were all eager to shout it.

"Mercy!" The crowd shouted.

Roy smiled as he continued singing.

Such a stage presence.

"Pretty woman, won't you pardon me?

Pretty woman, I couldn't help but see

Pretty woman

That you look lovely as can be

Are you lonely just like me?"

I felt this song was directed just at me. I was often lonely and lost. My heart was in love with a man that didn't know me but I wish he did.

I was indeed talking about Roy. I loved him so much but he was a rockstar. What would a rockstar like Roy want with me?

"Pretty woman, stop a while

Pretty woman, talk a while

Pretty woman, give your smile to me

Pretty woman, yeah, yeah, yeah

Pretty woman, look my way

Pretty woman, say you'll stay with me."

Nothing. Absolutely nothing in the world. That's the way it would stay.
