Next morning

I got up late all thanks to the lack of sleep the previous night. Then I remembered all the moments from last night and a smile crept on my face with a little fear too in my heart.

I sighed and looked at the clock. It's 11!!!

I am actually very late. I freaked out. Manik was supposed to pick me up for college, what happened to that???

I hurriedly got down from my bed and checked my phone, there were 2 texts from Manik.

"Good morning, Cinderella"

I smiled. I love it whenever he calls me with this name. Who doesn't like to be treated like a princess?

Then I opened the second text. "I hope you had a nice sleep. No need to worry. You can miss college for one day. I don't want you to be tired on your special day. Call me when you wake up. I love you."

I smiled more brightly whenever he said I love you and I still didn't reply to him but I will soon.

I was lost in Manik's land when chachi walked in. "Nandu, you're up? How did you become so late today?"

"Wohh... Wohh... Cha.. Chachi... I..."

I was fumbling confused about what to say to her.

"It's okay. It happens sometimes. Manik had come to pick you for college but you were sleeping, so he asked not to disturb you. Then I'll also think about letting it be."

I smiled at her. "Where is amms?"

"Amms has gone to temple. She'll also meet the priest for the evening."

I nodded. Chachi asked me to freshen up and left.

I walked into the washroom with my change. I took shower and came out. I was combing my hair when my eyes fell on the hairline. There was no trace of vermilion anymore, it pinched my heart. I never wanted to remove Manik's any trace from me.

I don't have vermilion with me nor can I ask chachi about it. I have to say Manik, he will get me. I took my phone to call him but chachi called me and I ran downstairs.

I went down and found amms was back.

"Kanna, you're up?"

I nodded.

"Nandu, invite your friends for the veneration in the evening."

I nodded with a smile and then she left for the preparation.

I too came back to my room. I called Manik. He picked up the call at the second ring only.

"Hello, Nandini." I heard his voice which held some different sensations today.

"Hello." I whispered.

"Are you okay?" He asked from other side making me smile.

"I'm fine. Are you in college?" I asked.

"Hmm. Why? Do you need anything?" He sounded restless.
