Syaoran Li
"We need to talk."

She didn't want to spend her Sunday overthinking about what this was about. It had been a few years since she had not talked to him. She had specifically asked him not to contact her anymore so she could move on in life.

Li and Sakura had broken up two years into college. It was hard for them to continue their relationship over the phone and meeting once in a year was not enough for Sakura.

Most of the time she would feel as if a huge drift separated them and no matter how much she tried to retain her sight of him, he would always disappear

Most of the time she would feel as if a huge drift separated them and no matter how much she tried to retain her sight of him, he would always disappear. Eventually the relationship cost her more tears than happy days, so she did what she thought was best. She let him go.

Sakura hesitated as she saw an unknown number calling her.

"Hello?"

"Hello. It's me Syaoran." His voice sounded different from the last time she heard from him. It sounded more uptight and diplomatic.

"How have you been?" Sakura tried imitating her co-workers as she couldn't calculate how to approach this.

"I have been doing fine. I had to talk to you about something important. Can we meet?" Sakura imagined how he might have looked like as he talked on the phone.

"Um. I'm not sure if that is a good idea. I actually am bogged down by a lot of work."

"You're back in Tomoeda?"

"I had some pending work here I need to sort out

"I had some pending work here I need to sort out. I have to return back home soon." His voice sounds like ice, Sakura thought. Just like he did when he first joined Tomoeda Elementary.

"Alright. This week after my shift I will see you. I'll text you the details?"

"Yes. Sure."

Sakura sat staring at her phone. Busy coping with progressing time, she had completely forgotten about how her life used to be when she was in school. About her friends and her cards. Magic served no purpose anymore. It couldn't help her make a living so she eventually replaced it with much more important things like cooking and cleaning.

Staring at the message he sent, she wondered. What did he have to talk to her about?
