*Haymitch's POV*

God I hate parties. I hate socializing with people in general. Especially when I have to get into nice clothes and get out of the house. Ugh! I absolutely hate it! There's nothing worse than good ole me going to a party.

I was never good at it in the first place. Every year, the sponsors would gather together and have a party to celebrate the games. There were food and drinks, which was the only reason I came. That and Effie pestering me that it would be good for my soul, to socialize with people. Gosh, I haven't seen Effie since the rebellion. With her deep blue eyes and perfect smile... Damn it! I always do that to myself. Compliment Effie in my brain when really I have no reason to!

Katniss called me on the phone a couple days ago, which was a rare time I actually answered, and said that there was a party that I had to go to. I kept saying to her I didn't want to go, but of course, Katniss being Katniss, yelled at me and now I don't have a choice but to go.

I go to my room and look in my closet. I find the only suit I own and throw it on, not worrying about the rest of me. The suit is uncomfortable and itchy, but I can't have Katniss getting mad at me again. I put on nice shoes and head out the door.

When I take my first step outside, I shiver. It's so cold. I would have never known though because I've never really gone outside since the war ended. As I walk to the venue, I think about possible outcomes. I could always go and secretly sneak out without anyone noticing. I could pretend I'm sick and purposefully eat too much and throw it up so I have to leave. Anything could happen.

I walk in, and the first thing I see is Katniss. "Ugh." I say to her. "Oh come on, toughen it up, cupcake." She says to me. "Listen," she continues, "Just stay and socialize. Who knows, you may make a new friend." I snicker at the thought of me having friends. "Here's a start, why don't you go and visit Effie. She's missed you." Katniss points to a far table, and there I see the most beautiful women in the world.
