This has to end. There was just no good way to do it - every idea I had would end up with someone hurt. Most of the plans, it would be Ellis or Frida. Despite how little the fae cared about me, despite how uncomfortable I made them, I didn't want them hurt either. So that left one option left; but first things first. Ellis had to know the truth before I disappeared for good...before I let the old gods reclaim me. She would hate me when she found out, but at least I could have a clear mind going to rest.
Taking a deep breath, I pulled my herb bundle from my pocket. Nightshade, hemlock, foxglove. Snakeroot, Ayahuasca, and poppy. I knew these would come in handy one day.. So many options, so many ways to go. Ayahuasca should work the best. Shoving the other plants back into my pocket, I swallowed the bitter herb. Almost instantly, I felt saliva rising up my throat, but I managed to keep it down. Taking a deep breath, I knocked on the witch's door. It was wrenched open, Ellis suddenly grabbing me in a tight hug. "You're awake! I was so worried-" I cut her off with a kiss - something I had wanted to do for a long time. Well...that's one thing out of the way. She stared at me for a moment, eyes wide. "Lilith - what-" I took a step back, afraid of what she would say.  Staring down, the ground was beginning to shift under my feet. She set a warm hand on my cheek, gently making me look at her. There were tiny tears forming in her eyes, with a questioning gaze. "How long?" She murmured. "How long?" Looking away, I tried to hide my pain. "Since the day I first saw you...but I knew you could never love a monster like me.." The witch made a quiet, pained sound. "You aren't a monster! You're just like the rest of us-" I interrupted her again. The herb was starting to affect me, and I didn't want her to see me like this. "I have to go - I'm sorry." As I turned to leave, I could feel my heart racing, my senses sharpening. When I stumbled, Ellis grabbed me by the shoulder, then flinched back at the look in my eyes. They had gone golden, with black slitted pupils. My nails were becoming longer, sharper. Teeth changed to fangs, razor sharp. Ellis backed away, into her room. Before she could close the door on me, I forced my way in after her. This wasn't supposed to be happening - the full moon was more than two weeks ago - but I was shifting. Not a proper change into a wolf, but turning into some freakish halfling beast. I wasn't in control - I was being run purely by instinct. My instincts felt her fear, urging me after her like she was prey. I could only watch in horror as I snarled at her, while she scrambled for something on her alter. A moment later, I leapt for her - and was stopped with a sickening jolt. Looking down, I saw the silver dagger Skylar had in the tower protruding from my heart. Falling to my knees, I looked up at her. Ellis had her hands over her mouth in horror, tears pouring down her face. Whimpering, I wrenched the blade from my skin, curling into the fetal position. "Lilith! I'm so sorry- oh god-" I heard her yelling for Frida, felt her desperately trying to stem the gushing flow of blood. The fae burst into the room, already on edge. "Ellis what-" It took them a moment, but then they realized what they were looking at. "Is that-" The witch nodded, tears still cascading down her cheeks. "Oh no..." The fae knelt next to me, attempting to help Ellis heal the wound. But some things were beyond magic - silver was fatal. As my vision started to blur, I rested a paw on their lap, begging them with my eyes to forgive me. They would never know what for exactly, but they could see the pain. The regret...the fear. I couldn't hold on any longer, letting my eyes flutter closed. As I bled out on the floor, the last thing I heard was Ellis begging me not to go.
