This short takes place on an alternate timeline, where only Connor had died. Enjoy.
~Lilith as usual, couldn't sleep. It had almost been a week since Connor died, and the memory was already hazy for her. Repressed memories filled most of her mind; and for a good reason. These days all she really remembered was Ellis. The witch had been caring for her for as long as she could recall. Time within the Circle was strange; they had been there for almost twenty years, but it only felt like a few months. In this time, Lilith had formed feelings for the little caster. About six years now, but she could never muster up the courage to confess. Today would be different though, the Raven had said so. And so here our tale begins.
Ellis rolled over in bed, bumping against someone's warm frame. "Morning..." Came a sleepy mumble from the figure. Lilith. She must have crawled in during the night, probably from having another nightmare. They all had the occasional nightmare, but the werewolf had been having one almost every single night since the blacksmith had been found dead. "Morning dear." Ellis whispered, trusting that Lilith was too sleepy to realize that she had been called 'dear'. She did hear though, but didn't quite register what it meant. With a jaw-cracking yawn, the pup pushed herself up in bed and began finger brushing her hair smooth. "Sorry-" She cut herself off with another yawn. "I meant to leave before you woke up." When she turned to look at Ellis, she was a little surprised to see her smiling widely at her. "It's totally alright, I don't mind." This in itself struck the werewolf as strange, but the Raven's words stayed with her. The wind is changing; keep with the current and you'll find the flowers of the gods. She just had to trust that Apollo was right. He was the God of Prophecy after all. "You sure?" Ellis nodded, then suddenly reached over and tucked a strand of dangling hair behind the wolf-girl's ear. In response to the gesture, Lilith turned her head away, pink creeping across her cheeks to dust them in a faint blush. "You alright there Lilith?" She questioned. "Mhmm...just still a bit sleepy.." Ellis quietly chuckled, tracing a finger along the other's jawline. Lilith felt the touch, warmth blooming where ever the nimble finger trailed. Then the witch gently grasped her chin, guiding Lilith to look up at her and meet her sparkling eyes. Before she could do anything, Ellis captured her lips in a soft kiss. It didn't last long though, only a few seconds. Lilith stayed frozen for a moment, trying to process what had just happened. Eventually, she found her tongue. "How long?" Ellis held her gaze. "Almost five years now, although it doesn't feel like that long." They both understood; time was strange here. A year felt like a month, a day only felt like an hour. "Ellis-" The caster cut her off, holding up a hand and looking away as a shimmering pool formed in her eyes. "You don't need to say anything. I know you only had eyes for Connor." The absolute absurdity of it struck the pup, and she burst out laughing. Ellis looked back at her, startled by the sudden outburst. She was laughing so hard that tears were spilling down her cheeks, tears of joy. "You thought-" It took her a few minutes to stop cackling and regain her breath. "You thought I was in love with Connor?" The witch looked at her, taken aback by this turn of events. "Yes - he was the one who saved you after all." Lilith just shook her head, tail wagging under the covers. "Oh gods above, no! Connor is like a brother to me. Only a brother." "Then who-" The werewolf just smirked and raised an eyebrow at her. "Who do you think? Who do I go to seek out every time I have a nightmare, who do I always trust my secrets to, turn to for comfort?" It only took her a split second to realize what the girl meant. "...me?" She started laughing again, and this time, the witch joined in. "Of course you! Almost six years now." They both wore grins as wide as one could have, giggling and holding each other tightly. Before long, they were kissing again. Hair wild, breath short they laid in bed together sharing their love until they were forced to pull apart to breathe. The Raven was right! This love was the flower of the Gods. Not a belladonna as the last had been, but the Fallen Angel's delicate petals. So was it promised, had come true. They had both found their soulmates in each other.~
