Chapter 10

The sun rose and alarms went off as the boys got up. The first thing they did was to check there phone to see if Harry had sent out the weekend sleepover information. Zayn looked at his phone to see not only missed messages from Liam, but also from Harry.
"Today is going to suck." He said to himself lowly.
Harry's sister brought him to school where he met up with the other boys. The first thing he noticed was the tension. Of course Niall was oblivious to it, but Shane certainly wasn't. He may be a toned down version of Niall, but he knew when to chill out. It looked like he was doing his best to keep the group chill. Louis was all over Zayn, who looked like he didn't want to be there. Liam looked sad, and was trying to interact with the group. Louis kept interrupting him, and being the loud happy child he normally was. Harry quickly walked over to the group. He knew that this was now going to be the new normal.
"Hey guys."
"Harry!" Louis greeted loudly.
"Someone is feeling chipper today." Harry commented. Zayn and Liam stole glances at each other while Louis and Harry talked. Finally, they headed to class, and they boys went to their separate seats. The day passed quickly for Louis who was overjoyed to have Zayn all to himself again. Harry tried to comfort Liam, and Shane did his best to keep them laughing. With Niall is wasn't hard. At then end of the day, Louis snagged Zayn before he and Liam could discuss what they would do with the tutoring sessions. Liam ended up heading with Harry to his house.
"Hey Shane."
"Yeah Ni."
"What was going on with the group today. They all seemed tense."
"Truthfully, I'm not sure. I don't know the full situation. The one person who would know, is not available to talk to right now."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean Harry. He's with Liam. Liam and Zayn were really off today. Not sure why tho."
"I thought they were going to go out together, normally you'd be happy about that."
"I don't know Niall, let's just get our work done, and maybe then I can call Harry."
The week passed slowly for the boys. Zayn had started skipping school, and Liam was sick. Louis was still oblivious to the fact that Zayn and Liam were lovesick for each other. At this point, Shane was getting irritated with how oblivious Louis was. Harry was trying to keep the group together, and yet was getting depressed because it wasn't working. Even Niall wasn't his happy go lucky self.
*Two weeks later*
Liam was back in school, and Zayn was still skipping.
" Hey Louis, is Zayn coming today?"
"I don't know, he isn't here yet so probably not. Why do you want to know Harry?"
"Just checking to see how much of the group was around."
The boys were talking in the hall when the principal walked up to them.
"Hello boys. Have you seen Mr. Malik lately?"
"No, we haven't." Liam answered already back in his role of the group dad.
"If you see him, tell him to come to the office immediately."
"Will do." The boys answered.
"I'm going to text Zayn, and you all are meeting me at the coffee shop after school." Shane said walking away.
"Where are you going?" Niall asked.
Shane turned back to face them. "Just tell the teachers that sick, and meet me at the ice cream shop."
"Well that was weird." Louis commented. "You know, maybe we should all skip today."
"No." The rest of the boys answered as the headed off to class. Louis caught up and took his place a the diva leading them.
*At the local park*
"Hey Shane, why'd you ask to meet here."
"Partly because we're less likely to be spotted in this park by the trees, and because I need to talk to you."
"Ok, what's up? Do you need my help?"
"No, this isn't about me, it's about you. You haven't been yourself, and before you give me some crappy answer, Harry already told me what's going on, but I have eyes and I can see what's going on too. What o don't understand is why you won't go out with Liam."
"Because I don't want to hurt the group or Louis."
"Zayn, you're hurting the group by not showing up or joining us for sleepovers, or hangout times."
"But, I can't be everything to everyone Shane."
"You don't have to be Zayn. You can spend time with the group, date Liam, and spend time with Louis. It's not that hard. Louis worried about you, he's oblivious to the fact that you and Liam like each other at the moment, but I can tell you this. If he knew you weren't happy because you weren't dating Liam, he set you too up and then tape the meeting and put it online. He cares about you and wants you to be happy. He doesn't mind if you date Liam, he just doesn't want you to forget about him."
Zayn sat there nodding his head. "You're right Shane, thanks. I don't know if Liam will take me back tho."
"Are you crazy? Liam still talks about you all the time. He thinks he did something wrong. You need to make up with him."
"Ok, I'll call him."
"Hold on, you can't call him now he's in class. I've got a better idea. I'll text the boys, and have them meet us for ice cream later. You can talk to Liam and Louis at the same time."
"Thanks Shane."
"No problem Z."
"So, when are you going to ask Niall to be your boyfriend?"
"What?" Shane asked with a shocked voice and face.
"Oh come on, you two are even more obvious than Liam and I, and you don't do anything about it."
"I don't know. I don't know if I'm ready yet. What if he says no?"
"I highly doubt Niall will say no. I'll make you a deal. You ask Niall out, and I'll fix this mess I got myself in."
"Zayn, I don't know. You need to fix this, and I want to ask Niall out, but what if he says no?"
"If he says no, then he misses out on something special, but I highly doubt he'll say no."
"Alright, I'll ask Niall out, but you better fix this."
"I will Shay, I will."
*The boys spent the rest of the morning chilling out, and then went to a food bus for lunch. Shane has texted the boys telling them to meet him, and they all texted back that they would.
*Later that day*
"They're comes Liam, I don't think I can do this Shane. What if I say something really wrong?"
"Relax Zayn, it's not like you're asking him to marry you, just apologizing. You'll be just fine."
Harry was talking with Louis, and Louis was staring at him like he hung the stars in the sky. Liam and Niall were walking side by side, while they didn't talk.
"Here's the store." Li announced, and then held the door open for the others.
"Ugh, he such a gentleman."
"Zayn chill, you'll be ok."
"There's Shanie." Niall said as walked towards him.
"I missed you today Shanie."
"I missed you too Ni."
"Zayn!" Louis yelped as he ran towards his friend. Liam stood their looking at Zayn, and finally walked over.
"I missed you too." He said.
"Hey listen, I need to talk to you both. Harry will you join us?"
"Of course, if we can get ice cream first."
The boys for their ice cream and then sat down.
"So Zayn, what is it that you want to tell us?" Harry asked.

(I'm almost done with this book *wipes dramatic tear*
