"Well what is it, man?" asked Wendy, wondering what this perfect plan was. "We're going on a stakeout" Dip smiled. Wen thought the idea over for a minute, it didn't sound like the chill thing to do, but if it was gonna keep Mabel safe from her awful, mind-controlling ex boyfriend than it might be the best thing to do. "I guess I'm in".

Next thing Wendy knew she was riding in the passengers seat as Dipper floored the golf cart. The look on his face was one of pure determination, she noticed while they sped down the street at top speed. Soon after arriving at the cemetery Wen remembered something that changed her opinion on the plan "carp" she exclaimed flatly. "What's wrong?" her little friend questioned "my ex is in he band" she frowned as she stepped onto the grass. "Yeah, it's Robbie's band, that's why we're here" said Dipper, not quite understanding. "No, not Robbie".

Now Dip was insanely confused "wait you have two ex's in the same band" he asked "sure do". The lumberjill shrugged as they made there way to some bushes next to the entrance of the garage. She knew practice was held in there after being Rob's on-again-off-again gf for a year.

While Dipper was busy hiding in the bush Mabel was introducing herself to all of her fellow band-mates. Too bad she didn't have enough time to make them all sweaters. Robbie walked up to her and started introducing everyone. "Johnny, bass" he pointed at a guy with glasses in white ripped skinny jeans and a ACDC t-shirt. "Mark, electric guitar" he pointed at another guy, a redhead in red flannel, blue jeans, and a trapper hat. "Winter, keyboard" he pointed at the third guy in a blue button up and khakis with pretty blond hair. "And that's Jude, drums" he pointed at the final member, a guy with shoulder length curly brown hair in a red and white striped polo and bell bottoms.

"Oh my gosh it's so nice to meet you!" Mabel went around the room wrapping each member individually in a hug and giving them all a warm smile. "So what are we singing?" she asked. "Ever heard of a place called Philadelphia?" Robbie smirked. He figured that if that cheerful little ball of energy was going to be in a rock band they might as well start her off slow. All of the guys began to get into place and Rob stood next to a mic stand and pointed. Mable walked to where she was told to stand and Johnny came over to give her a piece of sheet music, she assumed it was the song they were supposed to play. R lowered the stand, allowing the young girl to sing without standing on her tip toes.

The emo stepped back and the band started to play without warning. Mabel read the first line in her head and realized she was going to have to curse. She scrunched up her nose at the language but decided she would just censor it herself: "It's gosh darn freezing in this city/ there's no heat in my room/ I $wear it never stops raining/ and I'm so through!"

"Wow, she's  really good!" Wendy said from behind the bush. Dipper just nodded mouth agape. 'He's kinda cute when he's flustered' the lumberjill thought and smiled. Then she realized she was sick and tired of trying to convince herself she didn't like her buddy. Sure the age difference was inescapable and to be honest pretty annoying, but once they were both out of school would it really matter? "You're kind of cute when you're flustered" Dips mouth somehow dropped even further 'am I hallucinating? I must be hallucinating, because there is no way on earth she just said that' he thought. Then she looked at him, it was like his heart stopped. He knew all at once that everything was going to change.

"Fine" Robbie lied, knowing good and well that little Mabel was a showstopper. Her eyes lit up with the music and she seemed to feel each and every word the artist was saying as if they were her own words. He didn't know if it was really good acting or extreme emotion, but one thing was for sure, it was awesome. "Give her something more out style" he smirked. Jude walked up and handed her some Green Day and soon enough the music started again. "Don't wanna be an American idiot!/ Don't want a nation under the new mania/ And can you hear the sound of hysteria?/ The subliminal mind-stuff America!" It was right then, after that first verse, that Robert Stacy Valentino knew she was a perfect fit.

"D-did you ever say who you used to date" Dipper asked, oblivious. Man, Wendy had really hoped he would forget about that. She dated one lumberjack, one! Why was that the ex that Dip had to meet. "Mark" she sighed "the lumberjack?" skepticised her little friend while actively wondering if she was joking. "Yep" she admitted, defeated. Dippingsause couldn't hold it in anymore and he burst out into laughter. Somewhat embarrassed, the girl gave him a small smile.

*le time skip*

After they rehearsed a little more the Robbie V and the Tombstones scheduled their next practice and Mabel was sent on her way. Little did she know that Dipper and Wendy were still hiding behind the bush, lurking in the shadows. "Coast is clear" Dip whispered when Mabel was out of eyesight, and him and the redhead booked it twords the golf cart, eager to finally get out of there.

~~~~AN~~~~
The names of the band members (other than Mark which I took directly from the show) actually have some meaning to them.
Jude (you should all be able to guess) is based on Hey Jude
Johnny is based is based on Johnny Run Away by The Tones and I
Winter, last but not least, is based off of Dear Winter by AJR
The first two I chose specifically due to the fact that they are songs by rock bands and the third I just couldn't leave out because I stan that song.
