Beeker Household
3rd POV

Wren picked up a photo. Previously, she herself had placed the photo facedown. Now, she knew she'd have to get used to the ache. Her mother was pregnant, and the baby's name was being debated almost every day at the dinner table.

Dove Nasin Beeker.

A name that brings a truckload of emotions and memories when mentioned in the Beeker household. Dove was the eldest child, with unusually white hair and diamond blue eyes. She lived on her own with her lover, but often visited us when she could.

She wasn't a saint, nor a demon. She was merely a blessing. If you broke her trust you wouldn't get a second chance unless she knew you deserved it. She could be stern when she wanted, but you'd catch her feeling guilty later.

We all missed her. She treated Tyline like a little brother, so it was easy to convince him to help find her murderers. We're closer than ever, the bastards had escaped the day it happened but they won't be free much longer.

Flick Park
3rd POV

Under the blazing sun, the entire 10th grade of Saiki Highschool lay around in Flick Park. It was considered a field trip, and every grade had one. Wren, being the introvert she is, hung out under the shade of some trees alone.

She would've been with Tyline, but he was both a year above her and at a different school altogether. Instead, she settled for texting him. They'd gotten on the conversation of strange behavior near some alleyway, when their fun was interrupted.

Someone side tackled Wren, bringing both of them to the ground. Thoroughly not impressed, Wren shoved her friend off her.

"Aw c'mon Wren! Lemme cuddle youuu~" Linzy whined, latching onto her.

Heaving her infamous 'I despise humans' sigh, Wren asked what Linzy could possibly want.

"Me and the gang want you to play soccer with us! We have some other classmates, but you're so strong and fast that you can just ignore them! Pleeaasee?" The dark-haired girl attempted to give puppy eyes, as well as stroke a non-existent ego.

"Fine, whatever. Just, please, don't try to stroke an ego that doesn't exist." Wren muttered miserably.

Cheering, Linzy dragged her to a group of other teenagers. Wren understandably despised her classmates, as they only seemed to bring drama. During the first game, her assumptions were proved correct.

Two girls accused each other of cheating. At first it was simply an argument, but then they began to bring everything into it. Now, the rest of the group was trying to stop a potential cat fight. Wren stayed on the sidelines though, with Lide, Igni, and a few other kids.

During which, Wren received a call from an unsaved number. She answered, of course.

"Hello?" She questioned.

"Hi, is this Wren Beeker?" Someone answered.

"Yes, it is, why?" Wren's fingers twitched.

"Don't worry, your brother requested you and your parents all be informed. Saiki Highschool was attacked by villains today, and Kenzic Beeker got caught in the crossfire. He's stable, but will need to stay with us for a few days." The person explained vaguely, most likely assuming the girl was too young to understand much.

Wren assumes as much and merely said 'okay, I'll be over after school' before hanging up. Next to her, Igni noticed a barely visible drop in the girl's mood.

"What's wrong?" She placed a hand on Wren's shoulder.

"Kenzic was hurt in a surprise attack, he'll be in the hospital for the next few days." Wren sighed for the umpteenth time that hour.

The shorter girl gaped, "Is he gonna be okay?!" She asked.

"He'll be perfectly fine, don't worry ya cinnamon roll." Wren ruffled her hair.

Igni's scowl was invisible to those around her.

Pen Hospital
3rd POV

True to her word, Wren and her parents were in Kenzic's hospital room right after school. Even though she didn't show it, Wren was scared. She'd lost her sister over a year ago, losing her brother would be...

'No. It's fine. The hero teachers made sure the students didn't get too badly injured. He's stable, he'll live.' Wren blocked out her own thoughts, instead listening to her parents and the doctor.

Two hours later, the three left to go home. A serious, almost desperate air followed and surrounded them. When they got home, the family went straight to bed. Soon afterwards, the figure atop their roof was off, joined by another.
