The day of the fireworks festival had arrived to signal the beginning of summer. One could choose to wear yukata, but it wasn't necessarily a requirement. Y/n's yukata was white as virgin snow, with red lotus flower designs on the shoulder. At the bottom half of the yukata was pink sakura petals, designed to be blowing in the wind. After his hair was styled, Y/n followed Renge into a white SUV, getting in the backseat, as the two drove off.
"Y/n..." Renge started with her motherly voice. "You should text Haru that we're on the way to pick her up."
"I already did before we left." Y/n replied, looking out the window as his heel was repeatedly bouncing up and down to no rhythm in particular. "Did you check the forecast?"
"I brought an umbrella just in case it did."
Y/n checked his phone as Renge turned on the radio to hear people broadcasting about the festival. He saw that he got a response from Haru, which said;
"I'll be waiting outside."
He replied with a simple "ok" as he kept himself occupied with a gatcha game Ryuji got him into. Despite having ample wealth, not even money can skew luck in his favor as he tried to get people he wanted, silently raging as he kept getting re-pulls and commons and re-pulled commons five times in a row. Upon arriving at Haru's home, Y/n put the phone away inside his yukata, which had pockets sewn on the inside without showing an outline when they are carrying something. Renge stepped out of the driver's seat as she opened up the door to the backseat as she walked down the steps of her home and into the backseat along with Y/n, as Renge came back into the driver's seat and drove with the two heirs of a family empire in the back seat.
"It's nice to finally meet you." Haru said, while showing him a smile that was half genuine and half faked, something Y/n could tell since he also knew how to fake a smile and what genuine smiles look like. "Though, I thought you'd be--"
"Older?" He interrupted. "I get that a lot, but I'm a year younger than you."
"I thought you'd be at least a college freshman."
Y/n and Haru's sitting posture differed from each other to represent themselves. Y/n sat legs spread out and generally in a relaxed position while Haru sat stiff as a stick, almost afraid to move because of a T-Rex.
"Haru..." Y/n trailed off. "Tell me; did you actually agree to this? I'll know when you lie."
Haru's stiff sitting position loosened up as she let out a sigh of relief while she shook her head "no". Y/n let out an affirmative hum, confirming his suspicions about her father's scummy behavior.
"I didn't." She said in a bit of a sad tone. "I only did this to please my father."
"Haru, you shouldn't have to do anything for your father." Y/n reprimanding her like a father would their child for staying up past their bedtime. "I get it; he's family. You're your own person, not someone else's tool." They continued the drive in silence for a bit, until Y/n had found what he wanted to say to Haru. "Listen, Haru, I want this to be pleasurable experience for the both of us." He turned his body so that it was facing Haru, giving him her full attention as she looked his way. "So, I'm going to tell your father that I don't exactly support his political interests. My family's history might've been political at one point, but not anymore. Not while I'm its head."
