a month after the party Macaría and Adem where on another date. they had been on quite a few since the party. she would give him rides home since he didn't have a car yet, but on dates he insisted that he drove since she would go to his house to pick him up.

*Mac's Pov*

i wonder where we are going this time. god this guy never ceases to amaze me. it's always such a beautiful place. and i'm so shocked at how much i can be myself around him. our connection is so natural.

*mac gets a text from another one of her good friends callie*

<callie: hey loca !

>mac: hey puta!

<callie: where is he taking you this time ?

>mac: he hasn't told me i think it's a surprise, i'm pretty nervous

<callie: calm down dude, your gonna get your anxiety super high again!

~mac has had anxiety attacks since she left her dad~

> mac: okay okay, i'll text you when i drop him off alright?

<callie: alright choncha!

man adem is being super quiet, i wonder if i should ask him if everything is okay.

mac: "hey Addie, you alright ?"
he hates when i call him that, maybe that will get his attention

adem: "hmm ? yeah sorry i'm just a little ner- er excited about where i'm bringing you"

mac: "oh okay"

macaría grabs adems hand and he looks at her through his sunglasses and smiles at her.

*30 minutes later*

adem: "okay mac, put this on"

he hands her a blindfold

mac: "what's this for?"

adem: "so you don't peek"

mac: "oh ?"

then one of mac's favorite songs start playing on the radio. Neighbourhood Music by lil rob

and she's raping to it she remembers that she snaps back to reality and she can sense adems eyes on her and goes flush

adem: aweee whats wrong why'd you stop

mac: because i got lost in the music and forgot you where in the car too

adem: thats hurtful

adem and mac have had this connection that they know when the other one is being sarcastic.

mac: well, my apologies for loosing myself in music

adem: no apologies necessary, i find it cool that someone can loose themselves in music

mac: music has been my way to escape. i used to go into my closet, put music on and sing little heart out when my parents were arguing.

adem: oh man, well i guess that's pretty cool. you found something to release whatever stress you have

mac: yeah actually. i'm really glad i had that release. i don't really know where i'd be without it

adem: i think you'd still be you, just a little more angry

mac: yeah i see your point

they continued to talk and when the car came to a stop macaría got excited about what the surprise was going to be

adem: okay we are here

adem got out of the truck and went to the other side to open the door for mac

mac: such a gentleman

adem: yeah yeah i also don't want you to fall on your face

mac: hey that was one time

she hops out of the truck but her foot slips.  she almost falls but adem catches her

adem: see ?

mac: shut up

adem: whatever weirdo, give me your hand

macaría takes adems hand and the sound of thunder rolling scares her. she leans into adem for comfort and he squeezes her hand. he sits her down on a bench and sits next to her

adem: okay take off the blindfold

macaría takes off the blindfold and a single tear had flown down her cheek.

adem had taken macaría to an old farm land filled with beautiful flower fields. it was the same place her grandparents met and lived for a while.

adem: do you like it ?

mac: i love it. but how did you know about this place ?

adem: i asked alix and mali where i should bring you and they told me to bring you here

mac: well i'm glad they did, i haven't been out here in years

she stands up from the bench and walks over to the  cottage and smiles.

mac: just how i remember it in the pictures. my grandparents actually left this cottage in my name but it's not mine for another 2 months being that i'm still 17.

she walks over to her truck and opens the glove compartment and pulls out a sliver chain with a key dangling like a charm.

she walks back to the cottage and unlocks the door. once again tears stream down her cheeks as she walks in

mac: oh my god.
