A Difference (Markiplier X Reader)

Chapter 3

It's been a few weeks after you sold the doll painting to Julie. You were sitting on a park bench, sketching out a picture of a monarch butterfly. You didn't have any color on it, just a sketch pad and a pencil.

You were doing the wings when you heard a voice next to you. "Whatcha drawing missy?"

You jumped, not realizing the man was right next to you. He had a grin on his face and his eyes were on your drawing. "Uh, it's a butterfly," you said, feeling your cheeks rush with warmth from embarrassment of being startled.

"Sorry didn't mean to scare you," he said, sounding genuinely sorry.

"It's alright, I guess."

"The name's Mark," he stuck out his hand. You took it, "I'm (f/n)." You shook hands for a second. He sat down next to you at a comfortable distance. "You from around here?" He asked.

"No, I just moved here a couple months ago to sell art."

"I see. Is that that new store I see sometimes when I go places? Uh, what's it called, uh, (store name)?"

You only nodded, turning your attention back to your art. He then began to watch you again, and it made you aware of his breath on your arm as he watched. It made you feel somewhat awkward. You didn't even know the guy and he was staring over your shoulder watching you draw a throw away practice sketch.

"That drawing is pretty good. Are you gonna sell that in your store?"

"No, I'll probably just throw it away," you say as you finish it up.

"You can't throw a masterpiece like that away! Are you crazy? No. Not happening, (f/n). I'll take it and give it a nice home."

You couldn't help but laugh at his nonsense. But you tore the drawing out and handed it to him. "Here it's all yours. But if you want to see my better art collections, I suggest coming by (store name)."

He gave you a smug look and then looked down at the picture. You waved goodbye to him and walked off, somewhat wondering what a person like him is doing here.
