You were with your boyfriend at your house later that night. He was somewhat off tonight. Like he was thinking about something.
You were making popcorn when you felt his hand touch your shoulder, "Hey, (f/n), someone told me you were talking to some guy at the park today. Who was he?" He seemed jealous but you thought he was trying to hide it.
"Oh so you have people watching me now?"
"Just answer the question, please."
You were just meaning it as a joke, but you guessed you'd better just answer him. "He was just some guy. He was watching me draw a butterfly and wanted to know if I owned (store name).
He looked relieved. You expected him to say more, but he just went and sat down on the couch. Well that was strange.
You finished the popcorn and handed it to him. And after awhile he left and you went up to your room, falling asleep.
The next day, you were at work, helping out an older woman find something she liked. "I like this one,"
She said, pointing to a painting of daisies in a vase. You nodded and took it off the shelf.
"I'll ring that up for you." You put the painting in a medium sized bag. "How much would you like to give for it?"
"Would $20 be okay?" She asked. You nodded and she handed the 20 dollar bill to you as you handed her the bag. "Thank you for shopping!" You called as she walked out the door.
As you were depositing money into the cash register, a familiar face walks in. Mark looked around the store. He had a look of pure wonder. He made his way to the counter and looked at you.
"You're telling me you," he pointed his finger at you when he said that, "painted this whole store?"
You just shook your head but you couldn't help but find his reaction amusing. "No I didn't paint the whole store. Just the artwork in the store. Like anything?"
"Um... all of it? It's freaking awesome."
"Thanks, I guess," you giggle.
He had this strange look in his eye when he heard you giggle. But it went away quickly. "You have any other artwork? Besides in here I mean?"
"Yes, but it's at my house currently."
He laid a piece of paper on the countertop. "Send me some pictures of them. I'd like to see."
You look at the slip of paper and it happens to be a number. You nod, but while you were looking at the paper, Mark had just gotten a painting down that was Halloween style and laid it down on the counter. "I'd like to buy this please, (f/n)."
You nodded and asked how much he wanted to pay for it. He sat a $100 bill down and took the painting, walking out the door, not giving you time to reject the money.
