My Family

Waking up was strange. I felt restricted and sore. Looking down, I realise it's because my body is almost entirely covered in bandages. I'm in a full white bed in Fairytail's infirmary. I carefully sit up. Looking around the room I see flowers on the table next to my bed as well as a jug of water. I stiffly pour out a glass, drinking it quickly as my throat is dry. From what I can see through the window, it's early evening. I carefully get out of bed and slowly make my way into the main guild Hall. I get half way down the corridor when Gray rounds the corner. His eyes widen a little before he rushes over. He rests my hand on his and his other hand on my back, helping me to make sure I don't fall. The minute we're in the doorway to the hall Natsu shoots over, about to pick me up. I hold up my hand to stop him. I need to do this. I, however slowly, make my way over and sit at the table with Lucy and Erza, Natsu and Gray following behind closely. Natsu sits next to me and Gray squeezes in next to Lucy. One by one people come over to express how glad they are that I'm home. Gramps comes through the main door after a bit. He must have been away. He comes over and sits on the table infront of me, taking my bandaged hands in his. "I'm so glad you're home my dear. You don't know how worried we all were about you. We hardly got any sleep while we were searching. I was made aware of the situation while you were resting. You must know that, while your biological family may have given up on you, your family at Fairytail will always love you. We care for eachother in a way that only family can. And that will never change no matter where you are." Hearing him say that makes me think of my guild Mark and how horribly mutilated it is and I begin to cry. Master smiles softly. "We'll fix your emblem, you don't have to worry about that." I shake my head. "Thank you Master, but I want to keep it how it is, the scars will remind me of just how much I need you all." The Master himself gets teary at that, he hugs me lightly before calling for everyone to celebrate my return. There are cheers. People drink and laugh and I smile the whole time. This right here, this is my family. I take Natsu's hand in mine, intertwining our fingers. He turns to look at me, his face slightly worried in case something is wrong. I smile at him, resting my head on his shoulder. "Thank you. For always being my friend." He smiles, kissing my forehead lightly "You're welcome, campfire." I laugh. "You got it, Dragon breath." My world was finally at peace.
