Letter #30

Dear Matthew,

When I try to talk to my family about you, they act like it's no big deal. Of course it isn't- I'm JuSt A cHiLd.

If they think that just because I'm thirteen I don't know shit, they're wrong.

I know things. I may not have a job, have children, I may not be married, I may not have my driver's license... but I'm not a two year old.

I love my crush more than some women love their husbands.

I've cried more in a year than some women in a lifetime.

I know what it's like to lose a family member, to lose a friend, to fall in love and get broken...

So I'd LOVE it if people could stop acting like it's no big deal, because it's HELL of a big deal to me.

I'll just keep waiting for the day when people stop seeing me as a number and start seeing me as a person.
