To make up for my absence, I thought I'd do something I hadn't planned on doing yet. Hope you like this😊

Annika looked at Shivaay

Annika looked at Shivaay.

Rather, Annika glared at Shivaay.

In the morning, he'd been a perfect gentleman and told her he'll personally chauffeur her to the office during the entire course of her internship. Unlike Shivaay, she didn't have to hang around in the office the whole day as her shift was only till 1:00 pm. Hence, Shivaay was sweet enough to clear up his afternoon so that he'd be able to eat lunch at home while dropping her. The whole idea of spending time together had Annika in jitters. She had a huge smile on her face that never left after that.

Then, why is she mad, you ask?

They say, fairytales fade away after midnight.

Just like that, it did when they reached the office. Annika had to report at 9:00 am. Shivaay and Annika were stuck in traffic a little longer than anticipated, and hence, they were ten minutes late. Annika had assumed that wasn't going to be a problem, until it was. The moment they entered Shivaay's cabin, he chided her that she was late on her first day and told her this kind of behaviour would affect her final report. And after that, he began his journey of going Godzilla on her.

Yes, she didn't want to treated differently because she was his wife. But hey, she did want to be treated like an oxygen breathing human being. Worst of all, she'd catch Shivaay with a smile after screaming at her. He was enjoying her misery. It was very palpable, because her first assignment was with numbers. He, very well, was aware of the abomination she held for finance. She was hoping to do something related to marketing. In fact, Tej had even asked Shivaay to let her get acquainted to the staff in marketing. He had other ideas, of course. She was even sure that the other interns pitied her. For the first time in their whole married life, she hoped time would go sooner in his presence.

It was finally time to go. She walked up slowly to his cabin. He was loosening his tie while going through some files. She almost found that sexy, almost. He looked up at her and cued her to wait. Not paying a heed to it, she started speaking,

"Listen, I have to go to college now to drop off an assignment. It's just for today. I'll get going, because you won't be able to come back here on time if you drop me. I'll be sure to send your lunch."

She turned and left without waiting for his reply. Shivaay could see her miffed. He was aware he was being a jerk, but it was for her own good. Although, he wondered if he went a step too far.

Shivaay slowly entered their room. He made sure to come home early that day. He did not have a problem in convincing Tej about it, who actually pitied the boy. After all, Tej knew very well the difficulties involved in dealing family on professional grounds. However, what annoyed Shivaay was how furious his father had gotten when he learnt the happenings. He went around telling Shivaay that he should learn to say things lovingly. When Shivaay had reminded him the tough love he was given, Shakti just stated that it was different with Annika. His family should be the flag bearers of partiality. With these thoughts in his mind, he felt that he wasn't wrong after all. But that dissipated when he saw Annika's crest fallen face. She was sitting at the foot of the bed with a book. She looked up and saw him. She silently got his laptop bag and placed it on the table and proceeded to give him clothes to change. Her silence was truly deafening. He followed her to the vanity where she was starting to put away her earrings, definitely avoiding him. He slowly snaked his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder.
