Chapter Five

'He's not picking up. Did something happen? No way. I hope he's okay.' The thoughts kept racing in Tadashi's mind while he paced back and forth in his living area. He managed to wake up before 10am but realized Tsukishima never called him, nor messaged him. It was starting to eat him inside out. 'Maybe I should've just stayed with him last night. I should call once more. If not I'll go over there myself.' Tadashi pressed the call button for one more call, and finally after a couple of rings, he picked up.

  "Tadashi, good morning."

  "Tsukki! Are you okay?! You weren't answering I was so worried I thought something had happened to you and I was about to go catch the train to make sure you were okay!! Did something happen last night?! Did you get sick or-"

  "Tadashi...Relax. I just happen to sleep in. The group came over for drinks last night. I just ended up drinking more than I planned. I'm sorry."

  Tsukishima didn't sound alright, at least not to Tadashi. 'Maybe he's hung over or just woke up a few minutes ago.'

  "Oh thank goodness. I really thought something horrible happened." Tsukishima would usually throw in a sly joke to mess with Tadashi, but he didn't this time. Tadashi tried to push it off, not to let it bother him. "Do need me to come over? Are still hung over? I can come and care for you before your shoot later."

  "No! I mean- sorry. No it's okay. My head is killing me so I may just go wash up and take some headache medicine."

  "I can bring you some tea or soup, it's really no big deal Tsukki!"

  "Tadashi. I'm okay, I promise. Plus, you have an afternoon shift don't you? If you come here you'll be late. Plus I may take my mother to an early lunch. It is that time of month anyways. I'll be fine."

  "Oh...yeah you're right." Something was definitely off with Tsukishima. 'Maybe he's getting sick? But why would he hide it?' Tadashi tried to think of every possibility of way Tsukishima was acting so strange. "Well if you need anything just give me a call or text. Tell your mom I said hi, okay?"

  "Alright then. I'll talk to you later, 'kay?"

  "Okay. I love you."

  It was only for a few seconds but to Tadashi it felt so much longer. As if Tsukishima wasn't sure to say it or not.

  "I love you too, bye."

  Before Tadashi could even say 'bye' back Tsukishima had already hung up. He stood there with his phone still on his ear, hearing the beeping of the call ending. It was so weird. It's been ages since Tadashi had felt this feeling of anxiety and overwhelmed in him. He was close of the small details of people, especially with Tsukishima. 'Maybe he just didn't want to bring it up. At at better time I should ask him to be sure. Maybe the hung over hit him more harder than it usually does.'

  Tadashi finally moved the phone from his ear to go into Tsukishima's and his chat to send him a quick message. After sending his message a few seconds a new message came in. It was Hinata.

  He mentioned to him that he was back in town for a break or getaway from practicing. His coach practically made him fly back to Japan to get him away, which led Hinata to message Tadashi to see if he was busy.

Sure, I'm down! I have an afternoon shift around 2. You have a place in mind?
