"You should really get out more!" Gabbie laughs as we exit the gym. I rolled my eyes.

"You are training for the Olympics, why are you telling me to unfocus myself?" I laugh with her. Gabbie and Violet, Gabbie and Violet, Violet and Gabbie. We've been best friends since we first met at the tender age of three and five. I had been older, now nineteen. I had always taken the older sister role. When it came to Gabbie, I always tried to remind her of the real dangerous out there, she never seemed to listen.

"Please! You have a lot more time than me! Ballerina's timeline is a bit different from a gymnasts."

I shrugged, throwing my bag in the trunk. "Maybe so but auditions are close."

She threw her arms up. "Even more the reason! You need to unwind!"

I rolled my eyes as I back out of the gym parking lot. She forgot how easy my schedule could be rearranged. "Are you just saying that because you want me to drive you to a party?"

Gabbie threw my a sly grin. "A little of both, but it really will be fun. Maybe you'll finally score yourself a boyfriend."

"I do not need a boyfriend, that's stupid. I have a career, who needs a boyfriend?"

I also have a dirty little secret that happen to be strangling me.

"Is that your brain or your vagina saying that?"

I swatted her arm. "Try not to be so vulgar!"

Gabbie laughed, hard. "Oh my god! I bet there's cobwebs! You might need to hire a janitor to clean that out."

I glared at her. "I will not hesitate to push you out into the highway."

"Take me to that party."

"No."

"I'll tell your mom about that one time-."

"Fine."

Gabbie laughs as we pull up to her grandparents driveway.

"See you at eight!" She grins.

I scrunched my nose. "Get out of my car, you smell."

She rolls her eyes but grabs her gym back and blows me a kiss before running inside. I sigh deeply before driving along.

I arrived back to my place, my new place. I very recently moved out of my parents house. I made the move very quickly after graduation but I wasn't actually away from my parents. They owned the hotel. Which was in Australia. Needless to say, across the world from my needy, complaining parents was a relief. I opened my door and was greeted by my equally needy cat.

She ran to my legs and began meowing until I reached down and picked up her and brought her to my chest. I dropped my bag on my bed and looked at Ellie.

"Yes, who needs a boyfriend when I have you and a career and a cat," I told her and kissed her nose before setting her back down. I wandered back into my kitchen, Ellie behind me. I made her dinner as I snacked on peanut butter crackers. I hummed a french song. After washing dishes and taking care of Ellie, I took a quick shower.

Once the mirror unfogged I nearly jumped. I looked awful. My makeup was everywhere, my hair a dark jumbled mess. My pale skin seemed paperwhite against my black towel. The dark skin under my eyes made it appear as if I had been punched. I blinked, green eyes dilating in the reflection. I quickly looked away and brushed my teeth. I knew I did not have too much time before I had to pick up Gabbie.

As much as I complained, I felt giddy. I have not been to many college parties. Only stuffy, strict, rule bound gatherings that my parents oversaw and, of course, made the advantage theirs and would invite powerful officials to mingle with.
