I was sitting on my couch, devoured in my own humiliation. After Luke had kissed me and made a snarky remark, he froze and then muttered something about having to leave then rushed out of my apartment, leaving me standing there in my living room.

I sighed and tried to shake off those awful feelings.

"I have things to do anyways," I told myself. I was not lying either. I need to clean my house and do the laundry as well as come up with a couple dance routines for tomorrow's classes.

The day went by quickly the more I busied myself. I did not care to revisit my previous embarrassment Luke left me with. I finished all my things on my to do list but still needed to a make a couple of calls. After finishing sweeping, I got dressed and took myself out to dinner.

"Ms. Gray, will you drive your car or be escorted to your destination?" Dan asked me politely.

"I will have a driver today," I smiled. He nodded quickly. He rushed off and came back out with a smile. Dan, he was so sweet. I hope one day he'll graduate from driving people around.

"Dan, are you in school?" I wondered as he stood beside me.

"Yes ma'am, I am."

I looked over and glanced at him. He was cute, brown hair, brown eyes and sweet smile.

"What are you studying?"

"I would love to become a business manager."

I smiled at him again and nodded. I pulled up my purse and dug through it. I got to my wallet and opened it, pulling out a business card.

"His P.A. will answer the phone, her name is Angela, tell her you'd like to talk to Rick; make sure to mention Violet Gray sent you. Business hours are eight to six Monday through Saturday but call on a Wednesday. Rick is always in office on Wednesdays."

I handed him the card, his eyes wide. I couldn't help but smile again. "Tell him what you just told me and he will take care of you, got it?"

He nodded eagerly, clutching the card like a lifeline. I saw moisture gather in the corners of his eyes. I couldn't help but feel good about myself.

"Thank you so much Ms. Gray, you have no idea how much this means to me. All I ever wanted to do was take care of my mother and just thank you for providing me this chance."

I nodded understandingly; I saw my driver pull up in front of me.

Dan stumbled forward to open the door for me, offering a hand to help me in. As I was sliding in, I told him.

"And Dan? Please call me Violet."

He nodded. "Yes ma- yes, Violet," he corrected himself. I gave one last smiled before he pushed the door shut.

"Where to ma'am?"

I leaned forward and handed him the address, he nodded silently.

Thinking about Dan, I said to no one in particular.

"Just because I'm having a bad day doesn't mean everyone else does too."

My driver pulled up in front of the restaurant. I thanked him and told him when to be back. I slid out of the vehicle and walked into the classy restaurant. I hadn't really bothered to dress up too much, I didn't really see the point when I just planned on sitting at the bar.

"How many miss?"

"Just one, at the bar."

The waiter nodded before escorting me. I sat in the bar stool and waiting for the bartender. While I was sitting, I suddenly felt so awful I hadn't texted or called Gabbie to ask about her tournament. I quickly dialed the number, she picked up on the last ring.
