I yawned as I got out of bed. Today felt special for some reason. I'm not sure why. And then I remembered. John's birthday! And I had bought John the perfect present. I knew he'd love it. I hoped he'd love me too. I'd loved him for a while now. I wasn't sure how he felt... As emotions weren't exactly my division. As I got dressed in the usual dress shirt and coat, I embellished it with a small pipe-shaped pin that had been a gift from Molly. "There!" I said out loud as I twirled around in front of the mirror. Perfect. My coat made a swishing sound as I exited the room and walked to the kitchen. John wasn't up yet, so I decided to make tea for him. I put the kettle on the stove and sighed. As I sat down with the newspaper, Hudders decided to walk up the stairs. She looked at me kindly, with a little sadness in her eyes. "So is the tea.." She said. I interrupted her with "Yes it's for John." She took a good look at me and sat down across from me. "I know how you feel about him." She said quietly. Suddenly, I felt the urge to do something I hadn't done in a while; Cry. Tears started falling down my face. Mrs. Hudson embraced me as I blubbered like a child. She patted my back and tried to console me. "I...I just can't seem to get to him...!" I sobbed uncontrollably. "I have so many feelings...that I've never experienced before!" "Sherlock," Mrs.Hudson said calmly, "It's called love." "I know that!" I practically choked out. "It's just that..." "What?" Mrs. Hudson said tenderly. "I feel... I feel like he's the one." "The one I want to start a family with. The one I want to be with until I die." "Sherlock... I'd suggest calming down..." Mrs. Hudson said softly. "How about you go to the store?" I dried my eyes and agreed to go. I walked out the door and on to the street. The wind was blowing, the tears drying on my face. I decided to hail a cab. I hopped in, and to him to take me to the grocery store. I'm not exactly a very helpful person... If I buy you something you should consider yourself lucky. I'm always refusing to buy milk at the store, so I decided I would buy John a carton of milk. I knew he would be shocked and happy. As I jumped out of the cab and walked into the store I was a little embarrassed. I seemed to be the only person having trouble locating the milk, or anything else for that matter. I blushed and walked up to the sales lady at the front of the store. "Um... Excuse me?" I said. The woman turned around and fixed her piercing green eyes on me, which were now narrowed in disdain. "What?" She said icily. "Uh... Where's the milk?" I asked. She swished her hair, and pointed down the aisle."Down there." She said. "Thanks." I replied. I quickly walked down the aisle and bought the milk. I hailed another cab, arrived at home and opened the front door.
