"Johhhhhhhhnnnn!" I said a few days later. I was waving a bag in his face, filled with freshly baked tarts. He had been complaining about the food at the hospital, and I decided to bring him something he might actually like. I had two cups of coffee, also. One with sugar, one without. He gave a soft little snort and woke up. "Sherlock?" He asked. I sat down in the chair next to him. "Here!" I said. I started rummaging through the bag. "Cherry or blackberry?" I asked him. The confused expression on his face softened into tenderness. "You didn't have to-" I cut him off. "I can't have you complaining! My job is to make sure you aren't uncomfortable." He blushed. "I don't care what kind you give me." He said. "Good" I started.
"So I can have the lemon." His brow furrowed in mock anger. "No" he said "The lemon is mine." I chuckled and handed him the lemon tart. I handed him the coffee. "Sherlock-" he started. "No need to thank me!" I interrupted. He frowned. "No I was going to ask you to get me a fork." I could see the laughter behind his eyes. I playfully swatted his arm. "You jerk!" I said. He started laughing. "You're cute when you're angry." "I am not cute!" I said. "Yes you are." "No I'm not!" "Are." "Not." "Yes you are!" I finally gave in. "Fine! You can call me cute. But only you can. Just you!" John laughed and grabbed my hand. "You're so adorable when you admit someone's right."
