Chapter 23

"Hyung?" Jungkook asked that evening when Yoongi was sitting by the table working on his homework once again.
"That's new."
"Jimin told me that I had to use honorifics because you're old."
"I mean, yeah, compared to you." Yoongi leaned forward and patted Jungkook's head, grinning cheekily. "What is it, Jungkook-ah?"
"Uhm... When are you going to leave again? You're going to leave soon, right?" Jungkook asked and just the way he looked at him with those puppy eyes as he sat down on the bed next to him practically broke Yoongi's heart. Because Jungkook was right. He'd have to leave soon.
He actually hadn't really thought about it these last couple of days. It was easy to forget about everything else when he was spending time with Jungkook. Still, he'd already been here for a month, even though he hadn't really wanted to come in the first place.
There was way too much homework stacking up and he knew that if he left the apartment to his two roommates any longer than this, everything would start to rot soon.
"That's... yeah." There was no point in lying to Jungkook. It wasn't like it was going to change anything about the situation. What if he took Jungkook with him? He actually had enough space in his room to fit in another mattress and it wasn't like Namjoon or Hoseok had any right to complain about him being an inconvenience for once.
"Maybe you could come to Seoul with me?" He somewhat expected Jungkook to jump at the idea. After all Jungkook always seemed so free and flexible about whatever he had to do to stay around Yoongi. But instead Jungkook just looked down at the ground, his lips forming a soft frown as he pulled his legs up and played with his toes like Yoongi had watched him do so many times before.
"I don't think that's a good idea. This place is like home for me and the thought of leaving makes me really anxious. This is all I know after all." He looked up and Yoongi could tell that Jungkook was sad. But it also didn't seem like this was going to be something he was willing to change his mind on. And Yoongi wasn't going to try to force it.
"Then how about we get you a phone? That way you can call me and talk to me whenever you feel like it." Yoongi suggested instead, reaching for Jungkook's free hand and squeezing it.
Leaving Jungkook behind... did sound horrible, but being able to call him and talk to him any time made it seem like maybe it would be alright.
"But I'd have nowhere to charge it... and I won't be able to carry it around as a wolf." Jungkook sighed, closing his eyes for a few seconds, and pulled Yoongi's hand upwards to rub his cheek against it.
Yoongi turned his hand around to properly run his fingers over Jungkook's cheek. "I could give you a key for this shed. That way you would even have a place to sleep if you don't want to stay outside and you could change into your clothes and run around the city when you feel like it."
Jungkook seemed a bit hesitant. "What about your parents?"
"Well..." Yoongi ruffled through Jungkook's hair. "I'll introduce you to them and then come up with a stupid excuse as to why you are going to be at the shed every once in a while. Maybe something ridiculous like 'we made a bet, whether he'd manage to water the flowers in my room every day'. It's not like they'd have any reason to question in anyways. 'Oh my god, he is a werewolf' is not the first conclusion people come to when they see someone weird."
Jungkook chuckled before quickly dropping the smile to frown again. "So you're really going to leave soon..."
A soft sigh left Yoongi's lips as he moved back a bit to lean against the wall behind his bed. "I'm sorry. I really don't want to, but I can't stay here forever and taking you with me doesn't seem to be an option either. We'll take baby steps, alright? I'll take you to Seoul some time and maybe you'll get used to being there one day?"
Jungkook nodded, that frown still not leaving his face. Which was fucking mean because Jungkook knew damn well that he was tugging at Yoongi's heartstrings. "Don't look at me like that. It's not goodbye forever. Just a few months."
"You do realise how much time that is for me if you take into account how long I've been alive for already, right?" Jungkook murmured, moving closer to just lazily drop onto Yoongi's lap. "I'll miss you so much... At first you stop being there and then things stop smelling like you and then it slowly starts feeling like you'll never come back."
"I promise you I'll come back." Yoongi reassured, leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to Jungkook's cheek. "I have every reason to, don't I?"
Jungkook made a soft, 'hmpf' sound before burying his face in Yoongi's thigh. It was obvious that he really wasn't happy, but Yoongi really had no idea what else he could do. There was nothing that would change anything about him needing to go back to Seoul.
"Hey Jungkook. Wanna cuddle like this today... the bed is small, but if it gets too bad I'll just lie down on top of you." He chuckled, running his hand through Jungkook's hair again, hoping it would make him stop pouting.
To his relief Jungkook turned to look up at him. "I wanna cuddle... I'm still a bit angry that you're gonna leave though."
Yoongi chuckled, running his hand over Jungkook's cheek. "I'll text you every day, okay? You'll barely notice that I'm gone."
